National babies Day 2010
It’s National Babies Day – Go Ga-Ga Australia
Saturday, September 18th
National Babies Day is about remembering the babies who passed away too soon and celebrating the lives of healthy babies across Australia. National Babies Day raises much needed funds to help decrease the loss of children every year in Australia and provide a better quality of life for babies born prematurely struggling for survival in intensive care.
Events are being conducted across Australia during September to raise funds for the Bonnie Babes Foundation. Culminating with National babies Day on Saturday 18th September.
Why not get active, become involved and hold an event of your own? Bake sales, Mum and Bubs fundraiser parties, Fancy Dress day at work, or even get the girls together for a spot of shopping at Target on September 18th – involve your friends, have fun and best of all, raise money for a wonderful cause!
Traditionally, the Go Ga-Ga campaign has been Bonnie Babes biggest and most important fund raising event. The Go Ga-Ga campaign theme has featured many people, from all walks of life, some famous and some not, all with a dummy in their mouths.

What is Bonnie Babes all about?
The Bonnie Babes Foundation was established in February 1994 by a passionate team of volunteers, and is operated today as a non-profit volunteer based charity. The word ‘Bonnie’ is derived from the meaning of ‘happy, healthy babies’ which is what Bonnie Babes strives for constantly through their on going medical research.
One of the most important roles of the Bonnie Babes Foundation is to help families after the loss of a baby from miscarriage, stillbirth & prematurity. Sadly, over 50,000 babies are lost in Australia each year and one in every twenty babies is born prematurely. The Bonnie Babes Foundation provides a 24 hour, national grief counselling services to Australian families who have lost a baby. The Foundation’s trained counsellors provide grief counselling for any member of the family or friends grieving after pregnancy loss including miscarriage, stillbirth, premature-birth loss, genetic termination (forced abortion due to complications), and neonatal death (death shortly after birth).
Huggies continues to be a proud supporter of the Bonnie Babes Foundation and the wonderful work it does. If you require the counselling services of the Foundation, please telephone (03) 9803 1800, fax on (03) 9803 2699 or enquiry@bbf.org.au.
Why do Bonnie Babes run fundraising activities?
Like most charitable organisation the Bonnie Babes Foundation needs to raise its own funds. All the proceeds they raise go into their vital medical research projects, and their 24 hour, 7 day per week family grief counselling services and toward important medical equipment in hospitals for premature babies.
Unfortunately the Bonnie Babes Foundation does not receive government funding and relies on corporate sponsorship and fundraising activity in the community to maintain the services they provide to the community.
Pride of the Nation
The Bonnie Babes Foundation’s Pride of the Nation, is a lavishly illustrated coffee table book that features our very own Australian children. Children from newborn to 15 years of age are professionally photographed by an accredited photographer, with one of their images guaranteed to be included in the book. The Book is on display each year at Parliament House in Canberra as a record of a generation of Australian children. Children can also win prizes at the end of the year. For further information parents can log on to the Pride of the Nation Website or call 1300 693 686.
