Any lunch ideas for my 7 month old son?

Hi Leanne,
My son, Joshua is 7 months old and I am wondering what I could give him for lunch. He has a farex fruity museli for breakfast and vegies for tea. At present I am giving him some fruit (pair and peaches with farex mixed in), but I don`t think this is filling enough. My sister suggested a vegemite sandwich with yoghurt. Is this ok? What else can i give him?
Much appreciated,
Amanda

Answer: Hi Amanda,
In the early days before they have a wide repertoire it can be a bit tricky getting some sustaining food into bubs.

The yoghurt is a great idea, you can also looks at things like, mashed tinned fish in vegies, cream cheese in vegies and so on. Bread is an option, I personally waited re gluten, but there is now a move to start bubs on the more common allergy or reaction forming foods much earlier. I probably would hold off on the Vegemite for a bit, you could instead use avo, cream cheese, banana etc.

If you would like to see a bit of a check list of solids I have some tip sheets on Huggies on starting solids, what foods when and also a book, the links are:
Solids
Which foods when and fridge chart

Hope that helps.

All the best,
Leanne
