Hi I`ve got a 12 month old who eats perfectly fine. She loves her veggies and meats but I have been chunky pureeing the food. I will add pasta, bread, bits of shredded meat etc... But I`m just worried cause when I do give her finger foods like fish fingers, or home made nuggets she will only eat two and a bit of cucumber (that`s the only veggie she will eat like that) she does eat things like toast and other finger foods but I don`t think the mount she is eating is enough. She eats better when I feed her and the food is semi pureed. Do I have a problem on my hands??????????
It doesn`t sound like a problem to be honest, but you may like to just slowly move your toddler along with increasing textures in the veggie department. You know she likes the flavour (that is a major hurdle) so you just need to increase the texture. You could use her favourite veggies in ways that will bring her closer to whole foods. So roast veggies cut into small pieces or even just fork mash them once so they are squashed, grated and steamed mixed veg and so on.
Sometimes trying to make a huge leap can cause them to right off the foods they love, so slow and steady, you have plenty of time, there is obviously no problems with swallowing.
All the best,
