At what age can a baby have carrots, broccoli & cauliflower ? The books I'm reading say different ages.

Answer: Hi there,
yes all that info can be a bit of an overload! Most vegetables are good starter foods, hence you can trial them at anytime. Just remember to only offer one new food at a time to check for reactions, give the new food three days and then you can go on and trial the next. The main guideline to follow is more in relation to texture. We used to stagger the introduction of some foods but more recently there is a greater focus on texture and moving up through the coarseness of foods to finger foods by nine months.

Your absolutely best guide is your baby, they are all very different, which is why the guidelines can seem very vague. If you would like more on progressing through solids I have some tip sheets on Huggies on starting solids and also a book that might help with solids, the links are:

Solids
http://www.huggies.com.au/baby-care/baby-feeding/solids

Book club
http://www.huggies.com.au/benefits/book-club
(it is at the end as the books are listed in alphabetical order)

Plus a great little fridge chart I did with Organic Bubs on solids on my

site: www.sneakys.com.au under the nutrition resources page.

I hope that helps, have fun its a great stage
All the best
