Having trouble attaching my daugther to my breast

When my daughter was born the midwife tried to attach her to my breast but couldnt so they gave me this thing called a sheild. She finally attached but now that she is a month old she doesnt want to attach herself and she gets really frustrated with it. what can i do to help her get attached proply. i have tried to put pillows under her, i even tried laying on the bed please help

Answer: Hi there,
I think your question is best directed to the midwife, or you could buzz the lovely ladies at the ABA, or even pop into your early child health nurse as it can be handy to have someone show you how to position your breast so bub can get the most coverage. There wee mouths can be so small and it makes it tricky for attachment.

It’s really important to remind yourself how far you have both come, breastfeeding is not necessarily an easy task to learn for either of you and you are doing a great job, so keep it up!!!
