Ive got a 6 1/2 month old baby boy,

He is having 5 bottles of formula between 180ml-200ml plus introducing solids at breakfast and lunch at this stage.
He will have a bottle at 7.30am solids, 10.30-11.00am then 1.30-2.00pm solids then about 5.30pm-6.00pm 200ml bottle.
Generally goes to bed at 6.30-7.00pm.
Then i get him up at 9.30pm for the 5th bottle which sometimes he is groggy, then down and hes alseep again till 7.00am.
Can we drop that last feed, to see if he sleep threw or would you still get him up..

If you can help with this that would be great.. Thank you

Leann...
Answer: Hi there,
it can be confusing when you start dropping feeds and starting meals. You could certainly try dropping the ‘dream feed’. I would just time it with the introduction of some protein-rich foods as these will sit longer and make him feel full over the long haul till brekky. Depending on where bub is this might be easy or a little tricky, some bubs at 6.5 months are onto meats and others are only just starting out.

If you wanted a little more info on foods, I have some tip sheets on Huggies on starting solids and also a book that might help with solids, the links are:

Solids

Book club
http://www.huggies.com.au/benefits/book-club
(it is at the end as the books are listed in alphabetical order)

Plus a great little fridge chart I did with Organic Bubs on solids on my site:

http://www.cadencehealth.com.au under the About Us then Sneakys page.

At worst case scenario you can also go back to it if things don’t go as planned.

Hope that helps, all the best
Leanne
