Genetic disorders – Neurofibromatosis

I have Neurofibromatosis (NF), and so do my 2 younger kids, I was told what I had when I was 15. I’m now 29, and I’m still trying to understand it.

There are 2 types of Neurofibromatosis, TYPE 1 is you can go deaf, blind, become paralysed, you can lose your co-ordination too. TYPE 2 is you can have fits all the time as well as having tumours on your body. There is no cure for this type of skin disorder, which makes me really upset. I don’t want my 2 kids growing up getting picked on and teased the way I did. I just hope that 1 day they would find a cure so they can help people like my kids and I.
