Can you help me find a Standard size inner sprung mattress?
Can anyone help me I have recently built a cot for our first expecting new baby but I have built it for a 1200mm x 600mm standard size mattress and cannot find any decent ones around for a reasonable price, the reason for me building it to this size is because of my lack in knowledge in all things baby. I called baby city and asked what size mattresses are available and the lady said "Standard and American" So without question I thought that Standard would be the common size in New Zealand and asked for the measurements of a Standard size mattress and away I went buying all the timber and equipment to build my cot, but now trying to fill it with a Standard mattress is becoming a nightmare. Please help if you can. Anyone

I can understand your concern, but I honestly can’t help you in any practical sense. But I do know it’s very important to make sure you find a mattress which fits into the cot securely without any gaps between the rails and the mattress where potentially, the baby could slip. Perhaps you need to organize a custom made mattress, if you’re planning a few babies then this may work for you. Otherwise I guess you’re going to need to make modification to the cot.
