hi, how long after having a vaginal birth should your bleeding stop?
I've heard that the sex of your baby determains the length of bleeding is this true? It has been 8 weeks since I gave birth to my son and I am still bleeding, is this normal?
Alex ...
Answer:
Hi,
Usually you will bleed heavily for one to two weeks and then it will be very light and by 8 weeks it is almost gone. If you have a caesarean birth or you are not breast feeding it may go on a bit longer. If it is still heavy or smelly then you need to have a check up. The length of your bleeding is not affected by the sex of the baby.
Best wishes,
Alex.
