i was told not to excercise at the gym or swim properly like do freestyle and back stroke until i am three weeks post partum as i had an emergency C-section, is it best wait this long? my midwife told me this but how accurate is this? i do not want to hurt my insides, i also have a Diastasis recti so would that delay my ability to go to the gym at twelve weeks post partum?
At around 6 weeks post partum if you have had no complications your body has mostly healed. At most gyms there are return to fitness programs and some have post baby programs. I am sure that you could start doing something light after 6 weeks and then build from there.
