We are really lucky kyla sleeping 3 hours at a time smile but poor girl gets hiccups for half an hour at a time several times a day. Nothing seems to stop them.

Heres to the next phase.

Things are well here, with the exception of feeding - it's all a little hit and miss - Seth is lazy and seems to think that milk takes too long to exit my breast so he latches on, gives a few good sucks then decides it's all too hard! We had some success at his last feed, but I can;t seem to replicate two feeds in a row. Gotta keep practising!

Seth also has hiccups regularly for a while - we try to help him get rid of them but then it goes on for sooo long that we end up putting him in his bassinette and they end up going away themselves... but he used to get hiccups often when he was still in my tummy so I am not surprised he gets them out of my tummy LOL I remember reading somewhere ages ago that hiccups aren't as bad for babies as they are for us... though I think I might check that out again!!! smile

Yup, here's to the next phase!!! smile

Fingers crossed for you to Nelly.

Bel - I have a similar problem with the latching - I had no milk for 7 days and now only getting minimal so Kyla is used to a bottle and now doesn't want to suck on me. Midwife has put me on medication to up my supply. Started it yesterday and it is making a big difference already. So like you now need to practice with Kyla.
Here we are from due July thread smile

Isabella and Nicholas were born July 3rd. We are settling at home well, but from 10pm to 2am Isabella gets unsettled but we are working on it. They are breast and formula feed and it's working well for all.

Isabella was 2.876 Kg and Nicholas almost 3.4 Kg (7 pounds 6 oz) so they were not little for twins.

take care

Hi Im from Due in July congrats to you all !!

Hi!
I'm Jo, I was a member of the due in June thread as I was due June 28th but didn't have bub till July 1st. Hamish James was born 7.17am weighing 7lb 9oz, natural birth with no pain medications. He feeds 3hrly aswell which is really good and does suffer with the hiccups too! He doesn't get too worried by them and they just go away by themselves.

hi all, my name is Janine. congrats to all. Aiden Connor was born 2nd July at 4.05am, natural labour, just gas near the end. he was a massive 9lb 1oz, 53cm! no wonder i had a little scream lol! thankfully no tears or stitches either. was home by lunch time the same day. his two big brothers adore him, DS1 is 3 1/2 and DS2 is 2 in two weeks, so quite busy! Aiden gets the hiccups too and they go by themselves, he breast feeds every 3 - 4 hours, but between 7pm to 12pm it feels like it's constant feeding, but then sleeps until about 8! what a darling! lets hope i haven't jinxed myself! lol!
Hi and congratulations to everyone!!!

wow you girls are brave - good sized babies and little or no pain relief!!! I am very impressed, dont know how you did it but big credit to you.

Bed time for me - kyla has been really grumpy and screamy the last 24hrs so am shattered sad
Hi! I was from the Due in July thread too so thought it was time I moved over.

Lachlan Rhys was born on the 4th July at 9.27pm 8 pound 15 ounces. We were doing really well with breast feeding but I've been too sore the last day so have been expressing to give my nipples time to heal. Fingers crossed he goes back on the breast after having the bottle. He's also getting better at sleeping but usually has one cranky time per day. It was between 10pm-2am but now is 3am-7am.

Hope we see more of the Due in July girls here soon!

Hi

I lost all ability to string words together yesterday I was so tired. Mum and Partner were killing themselves laughing.

Despite my partners encouragement I am struggling to go for a sleep when Kyla sleeps during the day. Either the phone is ringing constantly or I have stuff I want to get done that I cant do when Kyla is awake.

Half way through July now - hope the other July due mums are doing well. I went one day before my due day and yesterday found out that, that was a good thing as 2 days later the hospital was inondated with ladies in labour so much so they were giving birth in the waiting room and a c-section 3rd time mum got sent home the same day as her c-section!!!

Oh I think she is waking again......
Hi All,

Riley James was born 14/7 a week overdue. He weighed in at 4.925 (10lb 13oz) 54cm long and 38.8cm head. He decided to come in a hurry in the end, my waters had broken at 7.30am, contractions didn't start until 2.30pm and he was born at 4.07pm. Having a couple of early things to watch out for - he has hydroceles (swollen testicles) which needs reviewing in 3 months to make sure everything is ok there. He also had a 100% tongue tie, which we had snipped yesterday. Seems to late for breastfeeding him though - he has had 5 days of expressed breast milk in a bottle, and fusses constantly when i try and breastfeed him now. So looks like i'll be expressing for a bit longer. At least daddy can take care of some of the feeds! smile

Other than that - hope everyone else is going well, and those who are still waiting hope it all happens soon for you.

Nelly xx

Congrats Nelly on the arrival of Riley. Hope everything sorts itself out.

I've had a rough couple of days. Wasn't feeling 100% the last few days, just put it down to tiredness til I nearly passed out in the shower yesterday. Went to Dr and he thinks I have an infection but not sure what as nothing was obvious. Maybe UTI, my C-section wound or mastitis. Put on antibiotics and thankfully feeling better today.

Other than that, things are going quite well. Lachlan is very good, 4 hrs on average between feeds now, and even a couple of 5 hours. I've been amazed at the amount of support out there and the generosity of people. We've been very lucky smile

hi Nelly - congratulations on Riley

Dont dispare on the breast feeding. I didn't have any milk or colosturm until 10 days, Midwifes decided that it was best not to put her to my breast after 3 days as she was getting so grummpy at sucking and not getting anything that she would latch but refuse to actually suck. I am now on medication which has started my milk but am only getting minimal and not enough for greedy guts. So she is getting a go at my breast but mainly feeding form the bottle. She wont go on teh nipple but if I put a nipple sheild on - the ones to save cracked nipples during feeding then she will suck and is now getting some milk from me.

sucks Ballbaby - Hope you are feeling better soon and be careful in teh shower!!!!
Hi All,

Congratulations on all the new babies! I'm from the due in July thread but my beautiful baby girl Hannah Louise was induced early on the 23rd June. She is already 4 weeks and two days!! We have generally been doing really well although she decided to celebrate her one month birthday by not sleeping at all!
Settling is becoming a bit harder but breastfeeding is still going along without a hitch.
My biggest anxieties have been about how good she is...i feel like an idiot but have stressed out about how she's been such a good baby and still finding it hard to keep on top of household things. We've always wanted a big family (Hannah is our first) and so i stressed i wouldn't cope with a more irritably baby, typical me thinking too far ahead. Fortunately i think i've managed to stop that and even this week got on top of the housework.
I've wanted to ask if anyone found that during their pregnancy and after they got more headaches...i never used to get headaches but find them occurring fairly frequently these days?? Is it something about being a mum?!?

Hope you and your babies are all well and have a great weekend. We are going on our first long car trip to celebrate my brothers birthday, will be interesting to see how we cope

xx Jenni

I have similar issue with Seth (though I have enough milk!!) - it appears that my son is gullible enough to believe that me wearing a nipple shield is the same as a bottle! After 3 weeks of him latching but not sucking, we now have success with feeding! Now the issue is that he falls asleep after 15 minites on one breast and I cannot rouse him to feed some more. So my concern now is that he isn't getting enough at each feed. The next couple of feeds are going to be EBM from a bottle just so I can be sure he has a few decent feeds.

This feeding caper is the only thing that really gets me down (apart from lack of sleep LOL), everything else is going beautifully!!

I have noticed I am getting headaches in the afternoons - I think it's from being tired!! I think that's when we need to stop, make ourselves a cuppa and sit quietly for half an hour!!! It seems to be the only way to get rid of mine, even panadol is useless!! smile

Hey Bel, we had the same problem with Lachlan falling asleep. I've found that if I feed him on one side then get up and change his nappy, he'll then be ready for the next side. Maybe give that a go?

hi i heard your little girl gets hiccups several times a day. my little boy who was born on the 3rd of july frequently gets hiccups. there isn't anything you can do i don't think. the only time they dissapeared was when he got them half way through a feed when i was burping him, once i stuck him back on the breast and he started drinking they dissappeared. so you could try that if it is feed time

Ahhh, I clued on that idea when I was giving him a bottle and he would fall asleep then, so I have tried it when he was on the breast - it worked whilst his nappy was off and his jewels exposed for the world to see, but once he was all done back up, by the time I get him back to the breast, he's asleep again or 'shut up shop' as I like to call it - little bugger!!! LOL

Congratulations on Max!! and go you girl on the no pain relief, was it always the plan for you not to have drugs? If so what an achievement to not wimp out!!!!

Are you girls breast feeding? - are you drinking enough fluids? I find if I haven't drunk enough during the day I get achy head as the day progresses.
Hey girls - c-hippi-kiwi suggested a website to me for other reasons to do with bf but www.kellymom.com was awesome for little bits of info to do with breastfeeding and whats NORMAL and whats not AND it had a link to another website
http://www.nbci.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=6&Itemid=13

which had info and really great videos that have helped me with keeping Harry awake during a feed - the theory is if the milk isn't flowing bubs will fall asleep, anyway - watch the videos, Harry is my 3rd breast fed bub and I still learnt heaps from them.

As for the headaches - I do think its normal - like a 3.30itis type thing.

Anyway, am I allowed to come on here - Harry is 6wks already but was a due july bub... actually it would probably be great if you said no so I don't spend so much time on here LOL!!!

I agree the more the merrier smile

Been a wee while since I got a few minutes to get on here. Well despite having pills to help my milk production its now more or less dried up ... so Kyla is going to have to be formula fed. It iis pretty gutting to not be able to feed her but the positive side is she does adore her dad and has an equal bond with him as he is sharing the feeding.

am beginning to wonder what life was like before bubs came in to it. funny how we just adapt.

How are everyones in laws abd mothers behaving. I know pre birth a few due july mums were having a hard time!!
