December 2010 Babies Rss

Hello Everyone..

Has anyone had a bub December and lives in the western sydney region or just had a december bub?

Mason was born 9 December 2010 at 7lb 15oz. I was induced as I had gestational diabetes. He is such a little treasure and so strong and aware. He was lifting his head and holding it from the beginning and is already rolling over. To have a baby so alert is lovely but comes with its cons.. like that he doesnt sleep through the day haha

Very proud first time mum though.. i am in love smile
hmmm.. maybe all sagittarius babies are the same haha

im a first mumma too..gave birth on 20 dec to my beautiful daughter Aaliyah and she sounds a lot like your little one!
right out of the whom she was wide eyed just sudying her new world! and she is amazingly strong!! dont even need to support her head and she is constant pushing herself up with her feet!
ANNND i have had the same troubles with day time sleep!! sucks eh!
but im seeing a light at the end of a lonnng tunnel..

have you ever herd of "feed, play, sleep" theory?
i watched a dvd yesturday that basically told me the tired signs of babies and when to put them to bed (awake!..Aaliyah has only ever gone to sleep on the boob or being rocked to sleep).. this vid also basically gives you "permission" to let them cry!.. i tryed it today-thinking she would NOT go to sleep..but i gave it 15mins and she was asleep..have had the best day so far!! i actually started to miss her becoz i wasnt used to all the free time!!
i recomend it.. try get your hands on the book "babywise" #1..same theory and SOOO many people i know swear by it and have thier kids sleeping through the night within a couple weeks!!! I CANT WAIT *fingers crossed*

just thought id share..could be a lifesaver?

glad you enjoying being a mum! so am i..best feeling in the world! grin
Hi Girls,

My daughter Audrey was born on December 22 and I am a first time mum also. We were induced a week early as she was such a tiny bubba - 5lb 10oz.

Her characteristics are much the same as your babies being that she is very strong, alert and there is barely any need to support her head. We seem to be having trouble settling her after her late night feed but other than that she seems to be sleeping quite well (touch wood)! We use the eat, play, sleep method also and make sure that she is tired but still awake when we put her down to sleep. It didnt take long for her to start to put herself to sleep and she seems to resettle better now if she wakes up.

Would love to hear you babies milestones - Audrey seems to amaze me every day.
I have just started to read the Sensation Baby Sleeping Plan to try and get Mason into a routine.. I feel terrible I have not tried to get him into one any sooner.. but being a first time mum it has been so full on.

I have just started the self settling which is so horrible but I am getting there.

Do you ladies have facebook? There is a group called 'Huggies - Bubs due Dec 2010' which have other women who have decemeber babies smile they are all so very lovely and everyone is so sharing with their day to day adventures.
Wow, our little one was born December 15th and same thing - everyone commented from day one how strong he is and how he held his head up so we hardly had to support his head and how alert he is. Maybe it is a Sagittarius thing!
He doesn't sleep too bad through the day and luckily he's been able to go to bed awake and self settle pretty much since he was only a couple of weeks old. He's just started having his longest sleep at night time (yay!) going to sleep around 9-10pm and sleeping through til 3-4am. But we're finding that he's more grizzly at night time just before his big sleep and he tends to be hungrier at this time too.
Jess - how do I find this Facebook group? I tried typing in Huggies in groups but it comes up with heaps just called 'Huggies'?
If you go to the last page of the Due In DECEMBER 2010 Christmas/Summer babies forum someone has posted a link to the facebook page..

Mason is a big sleeper a night times.. my average first sleep from him is between 5-7.5 hours smile

Hi, my little girl was born on the 4th December, 2010. After about 9 hours of "pre-labour" or irregular contractions (anywhere from 2mins apart to 15mins), I had a bath to relax on the advice of hospital staff. After I got out of the bath the contractions came full on, only a minute or two apart and my waters broke shortly after. I got to the hospital at 11:30pm on Friday and she was born 3.30am Saturday after 1.5 hours of pushing. She was a healthy 4.090 kg or 9 lbs and 55.5cm long! I only had gas during the labour, and had 2nd degree tears. I felt like I had been hit by a truck after it was all over.
My little girl has recently started sleeping 8 or 9 hours at night, but finds it hard to settle during the day. She's supporting her own head and can stand if I hold her up. She's off the scales in terms of height, and is already in oo clothes at 2months old, as ooo are too small.
I'm such a proud mother, but boy it's hard work!
My beautiful daughter Abbey was born on the 2nd of december.
she was breech from around 31 weeks so i had a c section
she was 7lb 6oz 52cms long!
she also from the minute she was out was so very alert everyone couldnt believe it i actually got a little worried at first coz she didnt cry when they pulled her out but then she made one little noise and that was it! =)
she was also very strong from the beginning holding her own head up and constantly lifting it.
she sleeps great!!
she will have a few short 30-40 minute naps during the day then bath & bottle
at the same time everyday and gets put down to bed and she knows this is sleep time & she will sleep for about 6-7hrs, wake up once for a nappy change and a top up & back down for another 4-5 hours
im a proud first time young mum and couldnt be happier with my life, its amazing the amount of love and joy a little human being can bring!
im also first time mum. my baby girl Alexis was born 14th of december after a speedy 8 hour labour and the day before my due date, weighing in at 6 pound 5. she struggled alot with feeding after her birth and lost 300 grams in 2 days and wasnt gaining any more so we stayed for a week. in the week she had only put on 20 grams so we had to get her weighed every week and if she still wasnt gaining weight we had to go back but after 2 weeks she started gaining 300 grams a week and is now thriving.
i was so lucky with my labour, my waters broke at 11pm and my contractions were 15 minutes apart, i walked up and down the stairs franticaly packing things that id forgotten for the hospital bag and at 2:30am we arrived at the hospital and was already 7.5cm then after a couple of hits of gas at 6:50am she arrived.
I have no problems with her sleeping, i am following the "save our sleep" routines and she sleeps great through the day and fantastic at night smile
Must be something about december babies, Alexis is very strong in her legs. she pushes herself up when holding her so she is standing and also holds her head up. she has discovered her tounge and is always pocking it out and stuff.
she can roll onto her side but only does it every now and then.
She absolutley LOVES looking at herself in the mirror, she recently has gotten a bit cranky with this other baby in the mirror and tends to get her cranky voice happening....very funny to watch but very cute.

My son Kailen was born 7th December 2010. Arrived 5 days early. Weighed a lovely 7lbs 1oz and had only a 4 hour labour.
I find it funny how people say-1st time mothers always go overdue. Showed them wrong!
My son was born on the 22nd of December 8lbs 4oz. Born on his due date after 5 hours of labour. He also was born very strong, hardly felt like he was fragile at all.
He has just gone 5 months today. He weighs 8.5 kgs blink
He is 69 cms tall and fits 9-12 month clothing lol.
He started rolling about 3 weeks ago from his tummy to his back and just this week hes started to roll from his back to his tummy.
He had his first crawl last week but nothing since roll eyes tho I am grateful that I dont have to chase him around the house yet wink
Has been teething for about a month but nothing has popped through. He is breastfed and has been on solids for a few weeks now but as hes more active now his weight gain has been less every week.

OMG born on my birthday lol. AWESOME!!!!
yep everyone told me i would go over out due dates 15, 16, 18 and 19 december(we were given 4) and that 1st time mothers always have long labours. my baby alexis was born december 14th and my labour was 8 hours from when my water broke to her birth. so WRONG and WRONG lol. all myths i think!
My son was born on the 8th of December at 7lbs 6oz. He was induced a week after his due date. I was in labour for about 4 hours. He is my 2nd child. He also was born very strong and quite alert.
He weighs 9kgs, is 71cm tall and wears 00 - 0. The 00's are starting to get tight.
He is rolling back to tummy and has done tummy to back but not as much.
He is also sitting unaided fairly well
He has 2 teeth already and is eating solids once a day. I tried BLW tonight without success. I gave him broccoli and he hated it lol.
Hope you don't mind me popping in smile
Nice to have a section for Dec 2010 bubs!!

Our lil angel was born on 31 Dec!! She was breech so we had a C-Sec.
She weighed abt 2.96 kg, she's on the smaller side! ..and she had a full head of hair!!
Now, at 4.5 months, she's a cheerful, chatty, squealy baby!! Tries to chew on anything she can lay her tiny hands on!! smile
Wow, your baby sounds so similar to my little, or should i say 'big' boy! Zane was born on the 23rd of Dec, and now weighs 8.4 kg and is 74 cms tall and wears clothes 0 or even 1! The doc says hes in the 97% for both height and weight and we should enroll him into basketball lessons pronto! smile Whats funny, is if you even show him a basketball, like bounce one or throw it into the air he squeals with delight or laughs!! As you can imagine, dad is very proud smile

Just like everyone elses posts, Zane was so alert from birth and isnt a great day sleeper - really must be something about being a dec baby! smile
my bubba girl Alexis was born december 14th and she is strong, this week she has started getting up on her hands and knees. she rocks back and forth then BAM face first on the floor. she tries so hard lol. and today said her first word BUBBA. i cant believe how fast she is growing up. she is real good at the commando crawl. she is so fast, put her down and turn my back for a second and she is on the move
My Baby boy Kaleb was born 1st Dec! I was in labour for almost 2 days and ended up having a caeasar sad He was in the posterior postion so there was no way he was coming out. I just wished they had worked that out before I had to go through everything. Oh well. Kaleb sounds very similar to all these other bubbas, always been such a strong boy. He rolls places now, I think he is trying to work out how to crawl just hasnt got the whole concept of legs yet, but hell get there smile

Hi everyone! I'm a bit late joining but as a first time Mum, it would be nice to have ideas and support from others going through the same things! My little girl Hannah was born 23rd December and is just a delight! Although she's just got her first cold today gasp( It's not too bad but I can't stand seeing her uncomfortable. But she's still smiling and we got through the day. She's about 8 kilos and 68cm long.I've also asked to join the Facebook group so that will be good.

My Lion hearted, little monkey was born 24th December, by emergency C-Sec due to IUGR and Breach position. He weighed 2.6kg and his sugar levels wouldn't stabilise. 24th March he was discharged from paediatric watch and life proceeded as originally planned. Looking back it was hectic but still the best time of my life. He is my greatest achievement! roll eyes
