Babys born with conditions Rss

When i was 17 i gave birth to my now 3 year old daughter. she was born with a congenital heart defect, which meant she had two holes in her heart and a faulty valve.
In june 2008, she was flown to the royal melbourne childrens hospital, from Hobart Tasmania, for Heart surgery.
She is fine now, but they say she still may need surgery in the future.
Have you got any stories like mine youd like to get off your chest and talk to other parents going through the same thing.
Love Sam xx
Hi Sam, my story isnt the same as yours . . .
my daughter is 22 months old and she was born with 2 uvulas at the back of her throat. When I first had Mariette my husband and I were told that Mariette had a hole in the roof of her month then we were told a cleft palate, but I was able to tell my doctors what a roof in the mouth and cleft palate were. Eventually they came and checked Matt's and my throat. Because of my epilepsy I was made feel guilty that my daughter has 2 uvulas. The doctor changed my medication to another medication for epileptics who are pregnant, I was made feel guilty because I have epilepsy and my mother in law has made it worse (thank god she lives in melbourne), sure Mariette see's a plastic surgeon who said that Mariette would never makes sounds ie laugh or talk and she wouldnt be a good eater, Mariette is a good eater and is so loud! The surgeon thinks that one uvula has shrunk but isnt 100% sure.
I'm sorry that I can't relate.... but I just wanted to say that you mums are AMAZING. You are so brave to go through this, it must be so worrying, stressful and painful. I just wanted to give you the credit you deserve, as you are honestly on my list of the bravest people in the world.
@ *Eva* : Thank you! These days you have to be brave when you have a child that was born or later on suffers from medical concerns. The RHH also made me feel guilty. My daughter is a happy, healthy and a very active child. I have a friend whose child has treachers syndrome (I've spelt treachers wrong... I think)she was born with no ears, her parents cant hear the child when she cries etc; Looking at photos of this little girl has made me realise how lucky I am, and personality, through seeing this little girl for how she is, it makes me want another child!
