hey manda your lucky you can have it.. I cant have the implonon or the pill.. I have to have the IUD as i have estrogen (Sp??) problems.. When i did get the implonon for the first time i had my period for 6wks straight (poor partner) and thats cause i got it taken out so not sure how long it would have lasted if i had left it in...

Oh my gosh, I think we all have so much happening.

Ella-Rose I am sure just likes to be the centre of attention. My 10 year old noticed she had a hair tightly around her toe on Tuesday and we were unable to get it off and it was swelling up. So I raced her up to the hospital. At our hospital the emergency admitting area is weird they have the same reception desk for an accident and medical centre and the hospital and you have little choice as to which you go to. We can sent to the accident and medical centre who quickly looked at it and then sent us to the emergency department (talk about double handling). They then held her down and very gently worked on her toe. It ended up cut all around and cut in the front where they had to dig into the swollen tissue to get to the hair. There was blood and a very loud young lady in a lot of pain. They gave her some medicine like morphine but it did not seem to do much. The contacted the on call surgeon to come and see her and were looking at a possibility of putting her under and cutting it off. Thankfully they managed to get it free in emergency, but we still had to wait for the surgeon to check it with his special glassess. I was told if I haddn't taken her up when I did she may have lost her toe.

A hair, a stupid little hair. I always check her finger for hair but have now added toes to that check.

I hope Amelia's legs are sorted out soon as that must be so worrying.
wow, who knew a hair could cause such a drama, i imagine it would've been hard watching your lil girl being held down screaming. poor baby sad All i can say is thank god for her big bro.

A similar thing happened to Amelia (similar by her big bro coming to the rescue, nothing about a hair). The phone rang so i got up and answered it while DH, DS and 4 of my bros watched the all stars nrl game, Amelia was propped up against a pillow so i told DH to watch her, 1 min later, i hear DS yelling "Dad, Dad, Look, Mia" and just kept yelling in an urgent voice. i go out to see what was happening, to find Amelia face down in the lounge. i picked her up and she was fine but i wonder if Ds (2.5 years old) didnt say anything would she have sufficated?

lucky the good that comes out of being a parent far outweighs the stress and bad.

hope everyone and their bubs are doing well smile

i asked the ladies of huggies about the purple feet, and one lady said it happened to both girls and she put it down to really chubby legs, which Amelia has so im not stressing as much, and also Dh has been treading lightly because of the stress im under. i was watching TV and he decided to cook hot dogs for lunch, he made it, brang it to me and then just as i finished one hot dog he brought me another and a drink, then said just call me if you need me, aww, he's being a good boy smile

Hi all,
My name is Cat and I was hoping I could join this forum. My twins were born on 01/10/11 but they were due on 11/11/11 so kinda right for this forum. I have really enjoyed reading all the responses. They use the babies corrected age (so their age if they had been born on 11/11) to measure everything because they like them to be caught up by 12-36mths so thus forum interests me.
The twins were born via Emergency c-section after maternal trauma early on the Sat morning (34wk+1) and after 4min resus my son, Benjamin, was born at a whopping 4lb4 and Charlotte followed a min later at a tiny 3lb14. They were both very long at 41.5 cm and 42cm respectively. I got gastro straight after birth which was the worst 5days of my life, but recovered well from the c-section thanks to runny to toilet freq. hours after birth!!! We then moved house when babies were 2wks (thankfully they were still in hosp). I had a 22mth old son, Lachlan at the time they were born (26mths now) so things were very hectic.
Sounds like all you mummies had rollercoaster rides too which is reassuring its not just my parenting! T
The twins are now 21wks and DS2 weights 5.4kg and DD weighs 4.7kg. They seem to be a bit behind some of your clever little ones as they are just able to hold toys and bring to theirs mouths and can roll on their sides. Sleeping wise they are pretty good they feed around 2130 and sleep until 830am with no waking for feeds but it took until they were 12 weeks to do that. DS1 is good he sleeps from 1900 until 0800-0900 so lucky.
Manda-n-Ross - in so impressed that your little one is toilet trained and all those things he can do at 2.5yrs is young. Very clever! My DS can count to 10 and knows lots of colours but gets confused and is no where near toilet trained (have put it off since twins made early arrival and struggling for time with 3 on my own)
KA7747. - DD has a really mild form of apnea which meant she would stop breathing regularly but they told me when she got sent home it's because of her prematurity and low weight (at time just shy of 2kg) but would grow out as her breathing feed-back system matured. Totally scary though that she would just stop and only touching her started if, many a sleepless night at first!
Welcome Cat,

You boys put my little ones 5lb 2oz to shame, and yes she has grown out of the apnea.

I take my hat off to you with 3 such young children. My four kids are 10, 8, 4 and Ella-Rose 4 months.

She does reach for hanging toys but cannot hold a rattle. This morning she reached up and touched her 4 year old brothers face. She does not seem to move much when down on the floor, no rolling but she can wriggle herself about 10 cm to one side or the other.

It would be good to hear how all the other babies are moving.
Hey guys
My wee girl Athena was born on her due date on the 11/11/11 at 2:35am
she weighed 9 pounds and was 54cm long ( not bad for a first baby )
I would be so interested in hearing how everyone is getting on with their bubs so we could compare notes smile
finally some action in here smile

welcome and congrats cat, wow, you sound so happy and proud of ur little kiddies and i take my hat off to you. twins and a toddler.

and welcome amy. yay another baby born on the special day of 11/11 smile i had amelia at 1.21am and she was 9 pound 4, so similar size too.

Amelia is doing really well, she absolutely hates tummy time, she cries everytime shes on her belly. but she does have very strong neck muscles so im not too concerned. she can almost roll on to her belly already (so proud) and she loves to talk (baby language). However, the other day i was day dreaming while she was on my lap and then she said "MUM", i automatically said "what", until i realised it wasnt my son, then laughed, DH heard it but said it doesnt count cause she was only talkin sh*t. i know it wasnt her first word but it gives me hope that mum will be her first word when shes older. DS was dad.

Amelia's legs are still pretty bad, still turn purple and ultrasound came up normal so they have no clue, hopefully she'll grow out of it.

Finally, anyone else's baby teething? I cant believe my litte terror got 6 teeth already, and they all came through in the one day sad another 4 are about to break through. since she started teething (About a week ago) she's been very sooky, wants cuddles and alot of attention and doesnt sleep for long sad hopefully they will stop annoying her soon.

My friend was due last wednesday and she is still waiting (feel sorry for her) she really doenst want a leap year baby. Tomorrow im leaving for a holiday - 1.5 weeks in sydney to visit inlaws and let them meet Amelia, then 1 week on the gold coast to go to the theme parks (my whole family is going, which makes 22 people) in between i have to study for uni sad oh well i better be off, cant wait to hear how everyone else is going, ill try and get on when i can smile take care smile

Hi guys has been a while, wow manda all teeth already, that's great love the baby babble zara does the same thing chat's away all the time it's so cute. caught up with a friend and both babies were babbling to each other was the funniest thing I have seen for a while. Zara is starting to like tummy time, loves bath time except she is really starting to push her legs on end of bath and water is starting to go everywhere. Think we might have to graduate to the big bath soon - not looking forward to bending over kind of like having bath on bench at my height.

Anyone else on minipill and breastfeeding. I had 2 periods 1st month I was on it and none this month is this normal will be getting checked out next week if still no period.

Glad to see all the babies are growing up. Love reading all your posts even if I don't have time to post all the time.
Hi all,

Well I am now a stay at home mum for a while. It has been years since I was a stay at home mum so I will have to see how it goes.

Ella-Rose has been very hungry requiring lots of extra feeds so I guess she is having a growth spurt. Plunket have been by today and she weighs 5.72 kg or 12 lbs 91/2 oz. I am delighted as she is now on the 25th percentile. Although height wise she is on the 75th percentile. Not too much of a surprise considering her father and I are both tall and her big sister at 10 is starting to look me in the eye.

While I was out of the room yesterday she rolled from front to back. Naturally she would not repeat the action while I was watching. But it is just a matter of time before I get to see her roll.

Today she was fasinated by the shadows on the wall and was talking to them. soo cute.
hi all,
it's been while since i've been on here, things have been up and down a lot lately, and i was starting to think i had slight pnd, but then i got my period and things have been a bit better. after i had jessica, i bled for 5weeks and then had nothing for the next 4mths, and she's bottle fed!! after trying for a year to fall pregnant and being let down every month, for a change i was relieved to get them, even if they did arrive on dd1's 6th b'day. so here's hoping my hormones were the real problem!! jessica is going/growing really nicely. she put on 900gms in 2 weeks a few weeks ago and is now just over 7kg at 4mths. i've had to start her on some farex around dinner time as she's been getting hungry that time of day, but not due for her next bottle yet. so far she's only having around 1 tablespoon and not every day, but she loves it so hopefully she'll be a much better eater than my eldest. jessica also loves being on the floor at lot more and can almost roll over, and she loves her baths - the bathroom mirror, floor and me all get washed at the same time!!
manda, i can't believe amelia has 6 teeth already, wow. jessica's teeth have been moving but nothing through yet, but the amount of dribbling she's been doing has been crazy, and the fists are constantly in her mouth!! she has a couple of teethers which i keep in the fridge and they help.
manda, just out of curiosity, have you had amelia's heart checked?? might not be relevant if she's gaining weight normally though, but i read in the news that a qld mum took her son to heaps of doc's in sydney as she was concerned about a few things, including purple legs and i thought of you. it might not be, but it may be worth getting her checked out....
ka7747, don't you love it when they find something they get lots of amusement from. jessica loves looking at herself in the mirror. we have a big long one in the bathroom so whenever i bath her, i help her sit up to splash around and she watches herself splash and laughs when she gets herself and the mirror smile
anyways, must get moving, glad to see everyone's babies are growing well and starting to discover the world around them, till next time smile
