December 2011 babies Rss

Hi All

DS is 4 months today! gone super fast and just loving every moment.
He is getting lots better with his day time sleeps, been so good and sleeping for hour 1/2 most times when I put him down during the day and still sleeping through the night smile If he was my first baby, id be having loads more...... I'm so not going there though, 3 is plenty blink

Kate - I hope you are enjoying the foster care - and would suggest all the things A&A suggested.
DS is grabbing hold of toys now, likes musical things, he is now rolling over and enjoying tummy time, Also in the Jolly jumper - as you can see by my profile pic smile he absolutly loves it!

WW update - still only 6kg down, but have lost 21 cm around my body , so happy with that and still have lots to go, but slow and consistant I think - as I do like a wine or 2 sometimes tongue

Gotta go DS is waking and time to pick up Girls from Daycare - oh and oldest DD starts School next month - so excited.

Take care all xx
Hi everybody, im new here... jusr curious... did anybody else have their wee babe on the 4th december?

Hi all!

Welcome 1littlemonkeyboy! - My DS was the 14th. Can't remember off the top of my head if anyone still on this thread was the 4th! Hope you are enjoying your little man.

Ange - 4 months has flown by just a little bit too quickly for my liking! Bub is growing so fast! And time that I am going to have to go back to work is getting close now. Only 5more weeks. Took him in for a short visit to the childcare centre today, that is making it a bit too real. And next week have his next check up at the cardiologist. He is doing all the things he is supposed to and is pretty huge - putting on weight just fine. So, I am expecting it to all be OK, but as it is getting closer I can't help but get a bit nervous about it. Trying to put it out of my mind as much as possible for now!

Sleep still not the best, but still better than it was. He did have a couple of nights in a row that he slept right through a couple of weeks ago, but went back to 1 or 2 wakes a night again. then the other night had 5! Felt that the next day!
HOpe you are doing better than me Rennie_lass!

Oh and Ange - good work with the WW!!!! I have started to loose a little, but not a whole lot yet!

Giggles are getting easier to get now - he was giggling like mad at DD who was jumping up and down yesterday, and when she was pretending to be a frog!

Hope you are all keeping well and spending your time enjoying those moments with your little ones.
A&A
I Had DS on the 24th of December and had to spend all of xmas in hospital. Not to worry, Wouldnt change it for the world. I just dont no what im going to do for his birthdays since its a day before christmas. grin

HI Mummugee! THat was what I was afraid of! ALthough due on the 10th I knew my chances were low smile
It probably won't matter too much this year or maybe even next, but once they are able to understand about birthdays I have heard of people who have "half-birthday" parties/celebrations to keep things a bit separate. Not sure about this myself but I will def be keeping it in mind as DS gets a bit older! I have a couple of friends with b'days in early Jan and they say they always feel a bit let down because people are a bit sick of parties by then or everyone they want to invite/spend time with is on holidays somewhere. Even now! But, maybe celebrating before Xmas would be OK anyhow? I am sure we will all figure it out as we go along, and what works one year might not work the next anyway.
How are you and bubs going? I am finding it fun to watch his personality start to come out!

Hi mummygee
I had my twins on the 24th, and was thinking the same thing about birthdays as well. I have decided this year to have their first birthday party one week early, will be sending invitations out next month to give everyone plenty of notice. As for the years ahead I will have to think about.

Just noticed 1monkeybubba's post in the where do they sleep thread - is anyone else's bub mucking up night time sleeps now or is it just the 2 of us? We have been down to one wake a night, and the occ sleep through but the last few days have been icky. Thinking growth spurt/learning new stuff/more alert. I know my DD had a short spell of being a bit unsettled at night but thought it was around teething time!

DS had his cardiology follow up today and all looked pretty good. Will never be completely normal but everything was all a little bit better than last time. Yay! Next appt 6 months away. Big yay!

ANd weighing 7.1kg and 67cm long. Seems to have the growing thing down pat! Jabs on Thursday - big week!

Beginning to really hit home that my mat leave is running out too - 4 more weeks! Only going back part time so not too bad but still.... Goes so fast!
Ok, it's been forever since I've been on here!

My ds is now 4 months tomorrow (had to take him for his 4 month immunisation today -- always makes me feel terrible). He is my dream baby. He sleeps through the night , mostly. He just smiles and giggles. awwww I miss him (he is just asleep, but gloating has made me want to hug him!).

I'm terrible with names, so if the comment sounds like its aimed at you it probably is- I've just read 5 pages and want to comment on the following:

* the frog cake!! holy moly- you should see my disaster cakes. That cake was ah-mazing!

* to the lucky lady who has lost 7 kilos. well done! I am currently doing the fernwood 12 week challenge, we are 6 weeks into it, and I've only lost about 2.5 kilos ----bleh! I need to loose about another 12. At this rate, it will take me all year!!
* i love the profile pic of the jolly jumping baby! It made me smile- sooo cute!

take care all, and I will try to take 5 mins out, and come and say hello. 3 kids under 4 isn't easy wink

xx
Eeek! Only 2 more weeks and my mat leave is up! Argh!!! Biggest issue is that DS still won't take a bottle!!!! Even with breastmilk in it. unsure We have tried different bottles, different teats, spouts with and without the seal bit, me giving it, someone else giving it, with distractions going on (TV, DD, walking), different positions... No luck. Bit scary really. At the moment, planning to try cold turkey on the weekend. NOT looking forward to it! Although I am only going back a few days a week they will be long days and I don't have the option of going in to the childcare to feed him.
ANyone have a magic answer? wink
Hi all!

It's been a while since I have been on here. I'll try to be a bit more consistent from now on.

Kq275 congrats on the twins! They are super cute. As for the sensory class...do what you feel is best for you and the babies. I probably wouldn't do it for my DD...she gets a bucket load of stimulation from my other girls, so I don't think we need it! LOL

Ange Your little one in the jolly jumper is adorable! Glad he sleeps well for you.
If he was my first baby, id be having loads more...... I'm so not going there though, 3 is plenty
Substitute he for she, and that could be me talking! LOL. 6 kg weight loss is great, especially with 21cm gone too! You said your DD starts school next (now this) month. Are you in NZ? I am in NSW, and everyone starts school at the start of the year.

A&A Glad your DS is sleeping better now. Going for that CC visit makes things all too real doesn't it? I hope he takes to the bottle this weekend! Good luck!!! I have never had to wean a bubba this late from the boob, so I can't give any advice. Good to hear the cardiology appointment went well. I can't remember if you said at the start, but why does he need reviews? (If you don't mind me asking - feel free not to answer )

97nc Immunisations are horrible! There must be something about 3rd babies....they are usually the dream babies. I know my little one is.

DD will be 5 months on the 9th! Gosh time flies. I must admit, I am a bit of a bad mummy...I still haven't been brave enough to take her for her 4 month jabs. Poor munchkin, I just don't want to see her cry . Before I know it, the 6 month ones will be due! I never felt like this with the other girls, but I just want to hold this one and keep her happy and safe. What is wrong with me? I know it's better for her in the long run. I'll snap out of it soon enough.

DD is laughing like crazy, and has a constant smile on her face. She still sleeps fulously, 12 or so hours over night, and 1 long day sleep, and 1-2 shorter ones. She's still a bit fussy sometimes with bottles, but seems to be stacking on the weight anyway. I started her on solids about 2 weeks ago, when she started grabbing food as I was putting it in my mouth. She isn't too fussed on the farex, but loves pumpkin and apple/mango. Not too keen on apple by itself yet either. That is all I have tried so far. The protruding tongue doesn't seem to be a problem, so she must be ready.

She can roll from her back to tummy in the blink of an eye, which is kind of bugging me at the moment, bacause she can't roll back, and gets cranky and vomits on her tummy. It's not too fun when she is in bed upstairs, and I am downstairs! GGRRR...I suppose the exercise is good for me!

WW- I have lost 7.5 kg in total. Gone from a size 16 ish, to a 12-14. I feel so much better for it too! It has taken a while, but I'm slowly getting there.

DP loves the new job. Shorter hours, can work from home, much more relaxed, and is drumming up business left, right, and centre! All for the same pay, potentially more based on bonuses.

ANyway, thats about it for now.

3 girls are enough...the shop is now shut!

Hi coffeeholic - DS has/had severe pulmonary stenosis, a really tight valve in his heart. He also had a small hole. He needed a balloon valvuloplasty - a balloon put up on a wire through the blood vessels in his groin, through the tight valve and blown up to stretch the valve. This was done under a general when he was 2 days old. Was very scary at the time but he responded really well and all looks like he is doing pretty well now! He will always have a funny valve but with any luck it won't cause him any problems from now on in, but will need watching.
Anyway, thought I better answer!

Will let you all know how the bottle goes on the weekend!

But, good work on the weight loss - I have still been horribly slack!
with the rolling - DS is the other way around! He can go front to back but not the other way around yet. He still gets himself frustrated on his tummy sometimes though. Hope your DD gets the other way sorted out soon!

I have thought about the solids and think he will take to it like a champ but decided to do the bottle thing first!

Brace yourself for the immunisations - but remember they only cry for a moment or 2! Or send her with hubby!
Bet that was a scary experience! Glad it's fixed. Modern medicine works wonders.

I told DP that I chickened out of the immunisations today, and he basically told me to suck it up. Figures I jab people all the time, I should be able to deal with it when it's my own kid. *sigh* Next week maybe

My 2 eldest girls thought it was hilarious this evening when I was feeding the baby, that she was chewing with all her might, even though she doesn't have teeth, and the food is smooth. Doesn't take much to amuse those two!
