Hylands teething tablets Rss

I used these a few years ago for miss 3 & they worked a treat.

Now I am wanting to use them for mr 1. When I went to the chemist yesterday, the young pharmacist looked at me like I had 2 heads, as I couldn't remember it's name. She told me to go home & google it. So I did.

Hylands teething tablets.

I am a bit confused though. Some sites say it has been recalled in the states, but I don't know about here. Something about the inconsistency of the belladonna doseage.

Can anyone fill me in?
Hey iwish,

From memory they were recalled here about 12ish months ago, I used them for DS as well & found them brilliant but as you said due to inconsistencies in the dosage. I read somewhere that they have been re introduced in the US but as of yet I can't find any info on when they will be in Australia. I check every time I go to the chemist but as of yet no luck.
They were recalled in USA an were suppose to recall them in Aus aswell which they must have because every chemist I have been to don't sell them any more.
Hi. Not sure if you have the answer you were looking for as yet but I am in the same situation. I have early teethers and my little miss started to teethe at 3 months. Thank goodness the first two are almost through! I contacted Hylands and as yet they do not have a supplier in Australia for the reintroduced product. The teething gel is available for them but not the tablets. My bub can't have gel at her age. But the good news is that they are advising that they are in the process of setting up suppliers again and should be back on the shelves by mid year. On the downside, I don't know if I can wait that long. I am getting some in the meantime from https://www.iherb.com and getting them sent from US. I would also be careful that any that you do find in shops are the reformulated product and not old stock that did not make it through the recall, although I never had a problem with the old product and used it regularly when DS was going through teething. Hope this helps.
I went with an amber necklace in the end. So far so good. The next tooth that popped up since using the necklace had broken through the skin without me realising. Hence no meds were required.
Hi I was using them at the time they were recalled last year. When I went to get another bottle the chemist told be that they have been deamed to be unsafe due to a herb in them which is now considered dangerous. He said no trustworthy chemist should stock them anymore and to use panadol/nurofen. In his opinion gels do not work as the baby/toddler gets rid of the gel within their saliva. Hope that helps. We are in Vic, if that helps.
I might give the amber a try then before I have to go to the hassle of importing from OS. I will get a bracelet first due to her size and upgrade to the necklace later. Thanks everyone for the info smile
