DS is 11 Weeks .. and Teething! Rss

OK, DS is my first bub. So when he started to drool, get cranky, not want his bottle or look really upset that he had to use it, i was like, HUH??

My sister in law and mother in law, went, he is teething?? I am like, no way - he is like 10 weeks old!

So I went to the nurse at the local chemist for his check up. I go, my sister and mother in law say he has a pre molar tooth moving around. Nurse is like "really?, OK lets have a look" with a facial expresion of Yeah right! .. Sticks a finger in his mouth and goes "OH, that is sharp"

Tells me to bonjella, and use some lemon Juice (lemon juice really?? ) and panadol as a last resort.

he seems Ok now (6 days later) ..
wow that is early! i also use hylands , you can buy it from the pharmacy but its all natural and you can use it way more often than bongela or panadol. You can use it every 15 mins!
Wow my chemist would not sell me bonjela as it isn't recommended for use till 4 months of age. I was told just to wait it out and Panasonic as a last resort. I bought cool tethers and held them for bub and put his dummy's in the freezer so they were cool on his gums but he doesn't like the dummy.

Now he is 4 months I'm scared of the bonjela as there are reports everywhere at the moment of mums over dosing their babies on it. It isn't to be used liberally as pp said id go with the natural alternative.

Best of luck you poor bub. My DS tooth showed at 11-12 weeks and then popped back down and has only just started popping back up.
after reading this post the other day, i thought that's a little early, until we went away for the last few days and my 8week old was irritable, dribbling heaps, wouldn't sleep for long, etc. we put it down to being away from her comfort zone until, for some reason, i put my finger in her mouth and felt a sharp bit on her top gum. i thought, that can't be right, she's too young, but we gave her panadol and it helped a little and two days later, it's still there, so who knows whether it will come right through or stay down.
My 14 week old is doing the same! I thought he was just not liking his bottle anymore but then while he was screaming I see this white thing on the side of his gum, I actually thought i was milk haha but its a tooth! He also has his 2 bottom front teeth coming thru aswel. I couldnt believe it. Hes a bit grizzly and not wanting his bottle but thats all and is sleeping fine, no other symptoms. This has been going on for 4 days.

I stayed away form Bonjela this time with my DD, apparently it is banned in several countries due to an ingredient that causes a syndrome ( i cant remember what ).

Wow , all of your babies are getting in early arent they?

I bought a teething ring thing that I keep in the freezer and whenever my DD needs it, I give it to her.

My almost 12 week old started to show symptoms of teething about a week ago. I picked up some Bonjela, but realized I can't use it until at least 4 months. I'd also read that you have to be really careful using topical treatments as they can numb out the gag reflex.

I've resorted to sticking a clean finger in her mouth and she's been gumming that a bit and it gives her a bit of relief.

To think: I hear that teething can go on for months before a single tooth comes through...wth?
Bonjela is fine as long as you follow the instructions on the tube. it is only meant to be a small amount at a time, and I have found that Bonjela is fine, if used correctly
