Hi there my friend and i tried to push her maclaren on the sand and no deal it was terrible and what was worse we didnt realise the beach was accessed by 50 steps...which we had to get the pram up and down also!!!! I am not sure about each pram and its off road capability...but why not just take the chance and see then you will know for future use smile
If you have someone with you who can help lift The pram then it'd be fine. But the pram want push well on the sand.

Have you got a sling? Might be easier than taking a pram. And a few towel for bub to lie on when you get there and a shade cover.

I've seen women struggle with prams on the sand cause the wheels don't roll, you'll have to drag through soft sand. smile

It is extremely hard to push a pram through soft sand. My husband and I tried it once and will never again. I would use a sling or front pack if you have one.
Don't ever try to take a strider on the beach lol.
I tried that last year, mind you there was like a million people on the beach. I got half way down and got stuck, i had a screaming baby in the pram my neice holding my hand an oversized umbrella under one arm and a bag of beach toys in the other while trying to get un stuck... Ill never try that again.

thanks for the replies everyone...haha..i think its safe to say the pram will stay in the car...and might even leave bubs home with dad...i dont have a sling or carrier and i think it wouldnt b fair for daughter if i cant watch and play with her properly cos im holding the baby...might just wait till bubs is bigger to bring him along...so glad i asked first..or id be struggling and cursing myself on the beach stuck in the sand lol!thanks a bunch!

it realy depends on the beach, a friend and i took our babies to the beach she has a mt buggie and i only had with me my childcare pram, the soft stuff i had to go over was very hard,my friend didnt realy have any probs. once we got to the hard stuff it was good, we walked for ever with no probs. so it realy depends on the beach, soft sand sucks.
I tried this last Sunday, and dragged the pram backwards across half the beach before DH (who was ahead of me with the other kids and hadn't noticed my struggles)comes back, and locked the wheels from freewheel to just the straight position, and off I went, easy as!! Stupid me didn't even think to do it, and it's only 1 pedal to push. blink
