Poor DD has been in the wars today Rss

Hey ladies

Oh boy! DD has had a fun day today. Stacked it 3 times this morning right on the face while crawling. Trying to be too cocky and going to fast. First time was 6.15 this morning. I was still in bed as DH likes to get her up of a morning. Heard this thump and an almighty scream. Jump out of bed, into the lounge room, DH handed her to me and I noticed a mouthful of blood! Arrrrgh. Tooth, plus top lip/gum, plus tile floor do not mix! She then did the same thing 2 hours later and then again with more blood. So poor little bugger has a top lip that women in Hollywood would pay bega bucks for! Then to top it off, she banged her head on the wall as she wasn't paying attention as to where she was going. Geez. So far this arvo, we have been accident free. Touch wood!!

I have tried to look in her mouth to see if any damage, and it looks like the bit that connects from the inside lip to the gum has torn. Has anyone else had this with their bubbas and has it healed itself? She is having no issues with feeding, eating etc and doesn't seem worried by it as fingers have still been going all through the mouth!

I'm sure there is going to be many more spills to come as she is trying to pull herself up on the furniture now. Oh joy!!
I hate it when they faceplant the tiles. Or the concrete. My DD2 has only had one of those incidents (so far) but DD1 has had several. She's torn that bit of skin between her lip & gum a few times. It now looks like a little ball of skin, kind of. But she's fine. Everthing still works. Sometimes when she smiles it sticks out abit. She's put her tooth through her lip several times too. Hasnt lost a tooth yet. But just to be sure, I would gently check to make sure it hasnt made a tooth loose.
My DD1 had done this too. It's called a frenulum (sp?). I googled it when she did it and all the sites said it's fine and not to worry. Her's has now reconnected and is fine.

Your poor DD. Hope her lip settles down soon.

Thanks for that.

She only has two teeth coming through, bottom left and top left. Looking like our little hillbilly at the moment! Haha the teeth havent fully finished coming through yet, so hopefully don't need to worry about loose teeth yet.
Oh boy i haven't met a baby that HASN'T went a gutsa.
My babe put her teeth through her bottom lip pretty good last week. Suprisingly though their mouths heal very quickly. So your babe ough be just fine.
On the way to learning something new, a few ouchies may happen in the mean time. Poor bugger.

The one thing I really worry about is her hitting her head badly on the tiles. As we live in cairns, too hot for carpet throughout the house, so it's only in the bedrooms and everywhere else is tiles. It's amazing the speed she gets on the tiles when crawling!!! Esp when she spies the cat!!!
Ouch!! Poor thing!!

My DS has put his teeth through his bottom lip before. Healed super fast bit I remember too there being loads of blood.
