huggies toddler nappies
as a parent of a toddler we struggle to get toddler nappies from huggies i get a box weekly and that just last but now its the same price but less nappies i dont no why that is but we are getting less in the box for more exspensive est $33.00 per box now there are taking 8-9 nappies out of the box for the same price is was before its not cheaper, since my daughter was born in april 2011 i have always stuck to huggies products but the price keeps getting even more higher and us parents are getting less value for the huggies items , i think this is really unfair but id like to hear yur thoughts on this to see if yous agree
the price has come down over the last year and now to keep there prices low they had to make less nappies so they could keep the same quality
it was either the price goes up or the nappies go down the price of huggies nappies hasn't gone up in 6 years just down so they had to even it out because the price of making them is going up

6 years? I think that's incorrect, because my son will be 5 in Nov. and when he was born and for about 18 months the nappies for full price $29.98 or thereabouts at Big W and you'd get the boxes go on special at Big W for about $26 or less! I think Coles and Woolies always had them dearer than that of course.

I was just trying to find that, thanks smile
I definitely remember the prices being THAT low though because I stopped buying them when the prices jumped, but that being said, it may have been the department stores and supermarkets hiking up the price for no good reason...

i aggree with you there at coles it is 33.00 for -----------> ( charlie & boots )
and since my daughter went on toddler nappies, i know they are keeping the same qualitly but for who them or us i have not seen at coles the nappies girls toddler bulk be less than 33.00 and like your saying either the price goes up or the nappies go down it would be much easyer if the the price went down too they are taking away some nappies out of the box they could atlease bring it down atlease 5.00 which would be much cheaper easyer and they wouldnt loose customers using there products , that way every one would be happy like its the same price now but less nappies what if they keep taking away nappies but keeping the price the day yeah ofcorse the price might not change but the quality of nappies will,
like in 2 years times you might only get 70 nappies for 33.00

I agree it is getting expensive. With our second child now here, we use Huggies at nightime and a generic brand during the day. This helps to save a few $

No company is going to lower the price of a product simply because you get less. All companies have been doing it since the GFC hit, shampoo bottles contain less mls, blocks of chocolate is smaller in grms, biscuits you receive 1 or 2 less than you used to, loo rolls have less sheets, certain milks are watered down to make them go further but the price is increasing, nappies are just another consumer product, it's just easier to count nappies than notice other little changes with your products.
My DD1 is about to turn 6 and I can only remember boxes of huggies being on special for $30 (and I was OCD on the cost of disposables, every brand there was, so glad I found cloth early with DD2) and they went up to $43 a box when DD2 was in nappies (who is turning 4 next week) then the supermarket wars started and both woolies and coles made such a big deal about lowering the price "permananently" to $33 which is where it has stayed for what 6-12 mths?
You need to remember that huggies also added nappies into their bulk boxes at some point where you got 6 or 9 extra nappies for a time without any extra cost when they were changing designs or shapes or whatever it was so if they've reduced the number of nappies across all boxes now it's pretty much just evened out to what it used to be a couple of years ago.

food products are different yeah coles and woolies are battling and making products better than the other but i dissagree in removing 6-9 nappies out of the box at lease bring the price down ok say it cost 0.40c per nappie
for an 82 box essample thats 32.80 close enough if you take say 9 nappies away thats taking away $3.60 worth and off the vaule, so if huggies removes some nappies and the price it would be about $29.40 i would pay that , but hey im not stating that huggies is not worth it im not saying anything bad about huggies i have stuck for huggies since my daughter was born im just stating my oppinion on what i think, and yes i do think that huggies has there reason, and there not going to change it back cause parents think its unfair , i am disapointed over it , like its something little but thats life i guess smile im still going to stick with huggies the product wont dissapoint you if that makes sence

You're right. They were only ever about $34 at Target(I'm guessing Big W was about the same) but they were $42.95 in the supermarkets.

They were that price in the cities aswell!

Yep!
DD1 was born about 5.5 yrs ago and Huggies were regularly on special for $29/$30 for a year or two prior to that. I remember the first time they went on special for $29. It was chaotic! Customers were wanting 20+ boxes. Even then, they were usually $39.95 a box and usually only ever on special for $35+.
So they have actually come down in price over 7 or so years!
Mahalias_Mummy19 - Please don't think i'm having a go at you but in regards to the decrease in number/box, what Kazza02 said is also correct. Around 2.5yrs ago Huggies actually increased the number of nappies per box by approx. 10%. Now they are simply reducing them by 10%. So really just back to the way they were. There are exactly the same no. per box that there used to be.
Frighteningly I still have some original 64 boys walker left over from DS1 which I will use for DS2!
So yeah! Overall we are better off now than 7 yrs ago!
