bit upset that huggies of all people would send me this in an email. i took it as urging or pressuring me to lose wieght and get my original body back, which under normal circumstances might be ok, HOWEVER huggies is well aware that i am 4 and a half months pregnant and losing weight, dieting, or undertaking any fitness plans that my doctor didnt create would be extremely irresponsible and should and is the last thing on my mind at the moment! I would really appreciate not being reminded that my body is changing or that im putting on wieght. I think that is soley up to my medical proffessionals. It felt like pressure and reminders i didnt need or want at this sensitive time in my life. It upset me quiet a bit. sad
Hi Stephvr

We're sorry that the 12WBT email upset you, and we certainly didn't mean that any of our pregnant members should try to regain their pre-pregnancy bodies! The 12WBT program is about fitness and health, not just weight loss. In fact, they have pregnancy specific exercises to keep fit (not lose weight), ways to strengthen the muscles you will need for childbirth, and recipes geared towards providing you with all the nutrients you and bub need during your pregnancy. There are a heap of health issues/complications that can come about in a pregnancy if the mum-to-be is unhealthy or not eating properly, and the aim of 12WBT is only to give mum a healthy pregnancy, a straight forward childbirth and a healthy bub.

Of course you should always consult your doctor about any exercise program before you begin - every pregnancy is different and what's doable for some women might not work for others. This is also something recommended in the 12WBT program.

Hope that helps to clear the air a bit.

Cheers,

Huggies Team
