mummy of two
Will she ever crawl??
My DD is 8mth old and seems to make no attempt to crawl. To get to to wherever she wants she just rolls, and as a result she keeps hitting her head on thing like the couch, walls and tv cabinet.Has anybody else baby done this....and did they ever start crawling???
hang in there. My friend's bub didn't roll, sit or crawl. At 7 and half months, she was worried. Now, two weeks later, she is forever chasing him and stopping him from grabbing everything in sight as well as moving very well. I think they all do things in there own time.

Mia commando rolls but no crawling. She got from crawling position to sitting position yesterday so maybe not too far away...
My niece didn't do any crawling motions (didn't get on hands and knees and no rocking) and then is the space of an hour she was commando crawling, and boy was she quick, and 5 wks later crawling.
It will happen so quick, so don't blink!!!

My first daughter didnt make any attempts to crawl either but one day when she was 8 months old she was sitting then just crawled to get her toy and crawled ever since. Emma who is 6 months has been rolling around for about a month now and is trying so hard to crawl but cant quite get her legs right but she stilll manages to get where she wants, I wish she wasnt mobile yet...

8 months old is not exactly late to start crawling, dont worry, and i think that because she can get around by rolling she is not as motivated as babies who dont roll to get places. She is still mobile
My baby is 8months also and she 'caterpillar' crawls (thats what i have called it describes it best) but she never rolled to get places, just from front to back and back to front.
During the next few months the differences between babies will be more apparant (so ive heard) as they all develop differently and focus on different areas at different times

myfirst baby (now 7) didn't crawl at all. He started walking at 8-9 months. He's fine. The clinic sister i was seeing at the time freaked out and attempted to make me feel like a bad mum as he hadn't crawled. Something to do with co-ordination. Mitch is perfectly fine. He plays footy, soccer, cricket and has no probs at all. He loves sports at school. And yes he had lots of tummy time.
I wouldn't stress some babies crawl, some don't.

My bub is just over 5 months and hasn't shown any sign of trying to move at all, not even a roll or trying to slide. Every time I put him on his stomach he screams.
I think us girls are expected to be preoccupied with the 'normal' baby and it pressures us too much. I don't listen to nurses anymore. All our babies will walk when they are ready and it will make no difference if it happens at 6 or 18 months.
Relax, you are wonderful mothers smile))
