I would love to know at what age your babies said their first actual word. I'm not talking about babbling - actually saying loud and clear Mama, Dadda ect

Hi there,

My wee girl 8 month old said Da Da at 5 month 3 weeks very clearly and in fact loves to shout it at the top of her lungs! She now says Ba Ba and Ma Ma and has done for a couple of weeks now. What about your bub?

My son who is now 2 yrs old started saying mama just before he turned 6 months, then baba and ta and dada followed pretty quickly after that. But his first real word - the one when he actually knew what he was saying - was at about 10 or 11 months and it was utta (trans - water). My daughter who is now 7 1/2 months started saying baba at around 6 months and now she also says mama, ga and when I sing "la-la-la-la" she sticks her tongue out and tries to mimick - very cute smile ! She still does lots of babbling with her own sounds that I won't even try to put into words grin LOL!
