DS crawling Rss

DS has just started crawling this week, so the past three days I've been chasing him around pulling him away from things he isn't aloud to play with. It's very good exercise lol.

The 3 big things he seems to go to is the tv cabinet. The DVD player, playstations 2 & 3 as well as the VCR are all on shelves out in the open. DS always crawls over and pulls the ps2 out plus it's games. He also goes over to the fire place. The fire place has a brick boarder around it and he grabs onto it and then stands on his feet. I am scared he will fall and hit his head on the bricks. Then there is a small DVD holder and he gets in there and pulls the DVDs/blue rays out.

I think we will have to go baby proofing shopping in the next three days or mummy might collapse from all this running around lol

Any1 have any suggestions on what to use to block things off?

we have a large bookcase so we have moved everything that we dont want her to touch to the upper shelves and put a selection of her books and puzzles on the lower shelf so she can help herself to them. She is obsessed with the sky decoder though and we cant move that away from the tv cabinet ,she constantly opens the little flap and tries to pull the card out, she hasn't done any damage to it yet so we dont have to worry too much.
We put a little fence around the fireplace (it was an old dog playpen, worked perfectly). To be honest we ended up moving a few things out of the way that were unsafe like the coffee table as he kept falling and bumping his head. Most other things I just moved out of reach like computer, remotes etc. Some things that we couldn't move he has learnt not to touch like power boards etc.

My mum puts a black cloth over the dvd player etc before the kids arrive and they never go playing with it. Not sure if it'll work for your DS who already knows there is fun stuff to play with, but it might be a short term solution. Put the cloth over the playstation's etc at night and see what happens in the morning! The cloth does have to be black tho.
