In your experience Rss

I have noticed that in the last couple of days all of the girl babies I know are walking and not one of the boy babies are.

They range in ages equally from 8 months - 14 months.

My DS has reached all of his milestones around the time that all the book and websites suggest they 'may' do. At 11 months he doesn't seem close to walking, which I know is normal. I know they all do things in when they are ready and I am all for letting babies do things in their own time, their own way.

Even with the earlier milestones I noticed my friends DD's reached them earlier than their male counterparts.

I am just interested to know if this has been the case in your family or circle of friends?
Yes I agree that in my family the girls have reached milestones earlier than ds but it seems that ds one day won't be able to do something and then the next he can do it perfectly. Like yesterday he'd only been standing when he had something to pull himself up with and then had something to hold onto and then yesterday he started standing up while in the middle of the room not wobbily at all. I'm so Proud of him grin
Ds also seems so much more coordinated when playing with cars and little things than the girls.
All kids are different to me as long as my kids are happy thats the main thing.
I've also found that as ds has 3 older dd's that are so devoted to him he also doesn't try to do things for himself as he knows they'll do it for him. Cheeky little bugger laugh grin
DS1 walked at 15 months
DS2 walked at 11 months

My niece that is the same age as my DS1 also walked at 15 months
my 7 month old Nephew is pulling himself up and wanting to walk already
i have heard that before but my DS has done things at a young age average
crawled at 6months walked full time at 10.5months

i dont have many babies to compare to so i'll use my little sister lol
she crawled at 13months and she started walking on her knees around 17m
and i'm not sure when she started walking properly cause i dont talk to mum anymore but either way DS did it first and younger

she was talking younger than DS though

i think it depends on the child

i cant remeber everything but i do remember when all my siblings started walking so i'll tell you that lol i'll just drag it on ha ha laugh

faith was 11m
mark was 8m
zane was 12m
sienna was 8m
xavier was 10m
indi was around 18m

i cant remeber for me or one of my sisters

hi my son started pulling him self up at 7 1/2months and by 9 was taking steps by 10months he was running a friend with a little girl that was born a week after him started to walk 2months after him and another friend who's boy is 3days older then my boy started walking 2 weeks before him so i don't think it has so much to do with their sex but more to individual ability..

I think boys and girls do things differently. My dd is the only female in our mothers group and she crawled before the others and has been walking for a while as the boys aren't. BUT the boys seem to master things that involve fine motor skills before her. For example the boy closest in age can push beads along one of those wire frames while DD just spins the beads.

I think the boys pick up small things along the way while girls go full steam ahead in to the bigger things. they all get there in the end which is the main thing.

I agree! We are the other way around with DS being the only boy in the coffee Group, with 7 girls.
I don't know what trends are generally, but no, this has not been my experience at all.

Both my boys have been much quicker with their milestones than other girls their age, and my girl was behind both of them in her physical milestones.

With talking, both genders have been very similar.

Fine motor skills scientifically and statisticlly are better in girls - which is why boys often have trouble with writing as opposed to girls.

Personality and the personal motivation of the individual makes more of a difference than gender.
