15month old Rss

What are ways that you have gotten your little one to gain some weight??? She will eat yoghurt but only a little bit the pead wants her to still be on formula but she just won't drink it we see our GP again next week for another weigh in and i don't think there will be much of a gain

I don't want to head down the road of a supplement unless it's totally unavoidable.

She isn't much of a picky eater she eats such a lot every day and the only thing i've found that she really doesn't like is cheese although for the first time the other day she ate a a few bits so might be able to keep pushing that.

hi,

does she like avocado? as a spread or as a dip?
You could mix it up with tuna or salmon and have on pita bread - my 14mth old likes this.
What about smoothies? can add a heap of yoghurt, fruit etc.
I grate cheese into lots of dishes (eg vegies, melted with baked beans, over pasta. Also as cream cheese spread on crackers or sandwiches?

Sorry I dont have many other ideas for you, good luck

You say you've tried yoghurt but have you tried cow's milk? When we were trying to get DD to put on weight, our maternal child health nurse recommended introducing milk and it seemed to work for us. DD is now a milk-a-holic though! Introducing milk helped her gain a bit of weight and also seemed to kick-start her appetite, although obviously that's not a problem for you.

With the cheese, I heard on a TV show the other night that on average it takes about 16 exposures of a food to a bub/toddler before they are used to it so maybe just keep giving it to her. If she had a bit already she might warm to it.

Other than that, we feed DD lots of yoghurt, baked beans, avocado and eggs, which I think are all good for weight gain. I have also just started making creamed rice (no sugar) for DD and she loves that.

How underweight is your DD? Ours was between the 3rd and 5th percentile so not technically underweight but I still worried about it incessently. We weren't sent to a paed as DD was very healthy and happy just didn't put on weight. I have since just accepted that she is just a skinny little thing LOL!! There is another bub in our mum's group who is exactly the same.

All the best.
i try to push as avocado as much as possible but she will only take a little bit at a time and it gets messy but i always put it on little sandwiches and crackers.

She doesn't like cows milk much will have it on her yoghurt but thats about it. i make our own yoghurt and give her full fat and its fresh with all the great antibodies.

She is 8kg at 15months so she is -5 on the chart
