Activities for a 1 Year Old Rss

Hi, can anyone give me some ideas of what kinds of activities i can do with my nearly 1 year old DD during the day? She seems to be getting a bit bored at home and bored with her toys (even though i rotate them).

I know i can take her to the park, visit grandma and things like that, but im thinking more along the lines of Playgroups and Kindergyms. I live in Adelaide. Unfortunately, im finding that all of the Playgroup sessions near my place start at times when DD is sleeping!! Very frustrating!!

Any ideas?
Are you looking for stuff outside the home or at home?

Probably both! Thanks!
Well My 15 month old loves the sandpit & going to the beach. Sieving sand through her fingers, burying her feet, smashing down sandcastles. I'm not sure at what age she started collecting shells things in a bucket.

We have a water table with various cups and spoons. But mainly she loves to just splash the water.

Playdough - you can make your own?
Try your local library, most run baby/toddler reading & activity sessions.
Hi, I also found most activities were scheduled during my son's sleep time, but Burnside Kinder-gym has baby sessions in the morning, and on a Wednesday in the early afternoon, which are great. My 15 month old amuses himself for ages by opening and closing the bottom drawer and my Tupperware cupboard, and pulling out all the bits and pieces, and then putting (some) of them back in again. Playing with pegs and the laundry basket is another favourite. Activities and toys don't have to be expensive to be fun.

Swimming lessons are good for the young ones, Mum can meet some new people, baby is learning a great new skill and also socialising with others. Also rather than Kindergyms or Playgroups have you thought of taking her to Play Cafes (Bubbles / Snakes & Ladders etc) - the areas they have for young children are very good for learning new skills and there are generally other mothers there to chat to as well. These can be attended at any time of the day.
