Sign Language Rss

I was wanting to teach my son sign language (he can hear) and was wondering if anyone knew of any workshops or classes in the Brisbane area that conduct this kind of thing. Or if there are any books or dvd's on the market.

Thanks

Hi Oscar's mum. I have ordered a Tinytalk kit, which is due to come in the mail any day now. It was about $30. I saw it on Sunrise a few weeks ago.

You can order it through: www.tinytalk.com.au

I believe you can start them as early as 5 months and it takes about 2 months for them to start doing it back.

I think it's a great idea as they learn their motor skills long before they can actually talk.

Hi there Oscar's mum,
I just logged on to post that topic, Weird!!! I also saw the show on sunrise aswell and it looked really interesting. When i was pregnant i saw a documentary on baby sign language and it is suppose to help with the terrible two's as the reason they play up is because they get fustrated because they can't communicate. So baby sign language helps defuse this.

Let me know how you go if you go ahead with it,

also to the lady ( sorry forgot your name ) who brought the tiny talk book we you get it can you let me know whether its worth purcahsing.
Thanks and good luck
I have just received info on workshops run in brisbane and ipswich, email me on speedwayatom@yahoo.com.au for details

There is also a very good signing package called sign2me, this has received huge positive publicity in WA. You can purchase there packages (Book and video) on Amazon.com. This is a USA based theory.
