Do You Vaccinate & Why?

Following on from a conversation in another thread.
Do tell, do you vaccinate and why did you choose to or not choose to?

Both my in laws are in the medical profession, my FIL is a surgeon and my MIL has a batchelor of health and is currently finsihing her medical degree (at the age of 50!)
The fully reserach with everything avalible to them and came back saying we will vacinate all of our kids, and we have since followed them. so yes i am a sheep but feel i am following well educated people who know what they are talking about.

Oooh yes i was thinking about that yesterday and i definately vaccinate!!!! im one of those people that always worry about sicknesses and things so i always kept up to date with my dd's vaccinations and there has been quite a few deaths here this year from meningitis (spelling) in the babys / kids so i definately had to do those ones.

We do not vaccinate our children. There are too many reasons to list why.

I vaccinate

I don't want my children getting sick from preventable diseases/illnesses.

I believe it is irresponsible of parents to chose not to immunise their kids.

Hi MU7265. My DH and I chose not to vaccinate our two DD's after many years of research. We found that although a small number of vaccines may be effective, there are just too many question marks in regards to toxic additives and their short and long term effects on babies, animal products in the vaccines and the effects of injecting these directly into the blood stream, the long term effects on the body of injecting vaccines into babies because of the above, (eg links with MS, inflammatory bowel disease, cancer) and the effect on the immune system and its normal function. Childhood diseases are in most cases not life threatening and prime the immune system to function properly and perhaps protect us from future illness eg cancer.
There are heaps more reasons but I suppose these are the main ones. I hope this all made sense (I know what I'm trying to say!!LOL)
I would be interested to read other peoples reasons for not vaccinating, although I think that I will be in the minority!!

Yes we vaccinate, did so ignorantly without any research just because it was the done thing. Now I would still choose SOME of the vaccinations but not others :0)

May i ask (not trying to start anythig as i think it will soudn that way)
But, if the vaccine's are SO dangerous(as your post makes me think) then how come there are not more reported cases of the desieases being linked to the vaccine and them being so widely used and promoted if they dont stop the disease anyways?
I am jsut tryign to work my way through this so bear with me.

If vaccines are not benifical, and do not prevent disease, and are in fact dangerous, Why are they pushed as the thing to do?

for me, my first was vaxed on schedule. Didnt question it. My second was mostly vaxed on schedule, till they introduced the chicken pox vaccine and then I started to question why etc, and now after researching everythign I can find, my third has had nothing at all and he is 4.5 months. He will have nothing until at least one, and then if after I have still kept on researching, I cant make my mind up, he will still have nothing.

There has been research in Japan (I think) that links vaccines and sids, and they dont vax their kids till 2 because of this. There are so many questions, and not enough HARD answers in my opinion

Hi Shales. I think IMO, vaccines are pushed because they make pharmaceutical companies billions of dollars each year. There are not heaps of studies on vaccines and side effects for a few reasons. People who do research are usually in hospitals or universities and they require funding to undertake these studies. The pharmaceutical companies, with all that money behind them, fund most of the research in these institutions. They are not going to fund something that doesn't support the use and safety of vaccines, they have too much money to lose!!

All the research done on vaccines before they are released are by the company releasing the new vaccine. They can twist results to suit themselves. For example, the new vaccine for cervical cancer, in the trials for that they used aluminium as a placebo!! The placebo is used to compare the number of reactions a vaccine causes and is supposed to be a pretend treatment, so the participants don't know if they are getting the vaccine or the pretend vaccine. So if a placebo causes a reaction too, the company can say that the vaccine caused no more reactions than a placebo and is safe. Sorry, I hope all this makes sense!!

what about the menzb immunisation? i think this one is very important, so many kids have contracted that this year and died or lost limbs etc what does anyone else think about this one

edited also to say: im not sure about aussie but here in nz if you want your child in kindergarten / school you have to proove they have full immunisation certificates -
