My youngest son is 6.5 months old and has always had the odd red blotchy spot on his body that has a raised white centre. They crop up all over the place and are gone within a day or two, only to pop up elsewhere. They don't seem to bother him at all or appear itchy but I have asked three different doctors for their opinion. They are not concerned and say varying things but all sort of assume it could be hives. Does anybody else's baby have them? Do you know what they are?
I have been presuming that it just a sensitive skin issue but as he is getting older I am wondering should I be worrying about it?

Mitch's is sort of similar, but he only gets them when he is bitten by mosquito's or sandflies, not just keep pooping up!
We have just in the last few weeks found he is allergic to mozzie/sandfly bites, he was put on anti hystermines and steroids, though that doesn't really help you out cos we know what Mitch'a are from!
They start out as just a little red spot and the get a blister in the middle of it for a few days, they end up being about a cm and a half for each bute, the poot kid!
The doctor told me to keep him awayfrom sandpit's etc as if he is allergic to the bites he gets, then the chance of him being allergic to the mites etc in sandpits is very high. We have to carry around antihystermines in case he is bitten to give him so he won't itch them, otherwise they can scar or get impetago from them in which will poison hius system!
Anyway, what i'm getting around to saying is, maybe bubs is having reactions to something that is used on a dailoy basis, i.e washing powder or even something we wouldn't normally think about like a spray or something bubs doesn't have direct contact with! It's probably not, but just a thoguht!

I know this is an old post, but I've only just come by it....thought I'd let you know that my son had similar symptoms since he was at least 6 months old...pimple like things on his cheeks, upper legs...sometimes they were there, sometimes they dissappeared..they never bothered him, and 2 doctors said it was ecsma and also at one time said it was that molluscum thing, but finally when he was 2 I read something about what it could be and i got a referral to a skin specialist and found out it was something called Keratis pelatis or something like that.....its not contagious, or wont affect him much maybe just cosmetically.

so you might want to get a referral to a dermatologist.
