Rickets or Vitamin D deficieny Rss

Today my wee Bella (born at 25 weeks gestation) went to see her Pediatrician, we haven't been for 6 months. After examining her he told us that he thinks she has Vitamin D deficiency (Rickets) because her legs are bowed and she has 'bulging' wrists. He immediately sent us off for blood testing.
I am at a bit of a loss, and also a bit angry! She already has enough problems for us to deal with and now this.
I have looked on Google (I know I shouldn't!)and can't find too much relevant information but I have got myself in a bit of a tiz about it!!
Has anyone had any personal experiences with it? What happens from here?
Obviously we haven't had it confirmed, but there is not really any other explanation for these issues.
I'll just add, she only has two teeth too, she's 14 months old.
TIA smile
can't help with vit D stuff.
But is 14months her adjusted age or birth age? because if its her birth age then her adjusted age would be about 10months or so? so I wouldn't worry about the teeth aspect smile

Hi, I also cant really help with the vitamin D thing but just wanted to say that my first 2 girls didnt get teeth until 12 months and the 3rd didnt get any until 14mths and they were all full term. So i am not sure if there is too much to worry about there.

I hope your little one is ok, big hugs to you it must be very hard. But i would also stay off google it will do you more harm than good.
Hi! I'm not sure if this little article is of any value to you...
vit d deficiency

Vitamin D deficiency runs in our family but we have only recently found out about it. None of us have got to the point of rickets though. My level was extremely low and I have been on a high dose of liquid vitamin d since then, gradually decreasing to a lower dose until stable at decent level (blood tests every couple of months). Most people don't get enough Vit D from the sun in Aus in winter (not sure where you are) if they live below Canberra. Also, you're not likely to get enough from the food you eat. My Dr is somewhat of an expert in this field and told me most Aussies are deficient but it's only when they are tested for it that it is found. I feel heaps better now since I have been taking it. I hope you get a good result and they can help your DD. Sorry, not sure if I have been helpful at all!
