HELP..baby all of a sudden started vomiting huge amounts Rss

My 9 week old son has all of a sudden started vomiting huge (and i mean HUGE) amounts! Its been going on for 4 days now and happens after every bottle. Sometimes it'll be 2 hours after he has had his bottle. He doesnt seem to be in pain and is still acting his normal self.
He is formula feed and has been for 6 weeks and have never had this problem until 4 days ago. Is something wrong with him? Its starting to worry me as it seems like hes throwing up his entire bottle because after he vomits he starts spewing little amounts (about a teaspoon) of clear liquid? Should I take him to the doctor?
Please someone help! Theres no more places left on the carpet that arent stained!!!
Hi Chelsea,

I would suggest a trip to the doc to rule anything out, its free anyways.

Could be that he's developing reflux?? Have you recently changed formula?
I'm definitely not a pro by any means with formula feed babies, mine were both breast feed till 11 months, but if he's just started doing it and its not normal i.e. he's been on the same formula for a while now. I would get him checked out...

How is he in himself, seems happy? happier after vomitting??

Good Luck
Lottie
Hope you get more advice

hes only started vomiting since being on formula. i dont think he ever spilt while breastfed. hes absolutley the smiliest happiest baby and this hasnt changed. and he has been on the same formula since we started it.
is it possible he could be lactose intolerant? my partners dad is lactose intolerant.
make an appointment with your GP...
I would see the GP but in the meantime;

Reduce the amount you are feeding him at each session, to see if this makes a difference, you can always add another bottle during the day.

If the reduced bottle helps, maybe a simple case of bubs drinking more than his stomach can handle. If smaller amounts come up, and more watery it could be reflux.

I have a sheet on the couch to catch the vomit, i spend the day covered in it, and my tiles, have milk spots all over them. At 7mths the reflux is finally dying down with the help of solids, shes not on medication anymore and im use to the smell of gucci mixed with a side of puke.
Hi like the others have memtion i would take him to your GP.

But with the loctose intolerant, what are hes stools like.I know with my DS3 at around 10 months of age we found out he was lactose intolerant. He only did little chucks but his stools were very loose and frothy and foul smelling.Gp took two stool samples and got results within 3 days.He has been on a loctose free formula since.

Hope you find some answers. smile

Hi I would also visit the doctors.

Sounds to me like a reaction to the formula, maybe reacting to the dairy. This is exctly what my niece did and she ended up being brought up on neocate which is a script formula as she was dairy free, she has dairy now but couldnt tolerate when she was a baby.

Good luck
Thanks for all the advice guys smile
I took him to the doctor yesterday but they had no clue, so i'm taking him back this morning as after we got home from the doctor he done a big solid poo which cant be normal. The only time he is unsettled is when I am feeding him, so i'm going to tell the doctors I think he is lactose intolerant. And try get an appointment with Rodney Ford. Has anyone heard of him? Hes meant to be amazing at diagnosing childrens allergies and intolerances.
