I need help in keeping my son in his car seat.

I have a safe and sound car seat, from birth to 18kgs.

Over the past two-three weeks he has been getting his arms out of his straps. They aren't too loose or too tight, as I have tried loosening or tightening and still gets out.

It's also a problem with the pusher/pram. I have two types at home, and my mum also has a different on at her house and it's all the same.

I do not know what to do as it's not safe. He has toys and books etc in the car, he can see clearly out the window, he can see both me and his dad ( we take turns in driving so it's mixed up and he can see us both as his seat his behind the passenger), he has a sun shade so he's not getting away from the sun, his half sister only comes every fortnight on weekends and it's the same if someones In the back with him.

I just don't know what to do anymore! I'm too scared to drive anywhere now in case we have an accident and something happens to him!

I have thought of making up another strap to from one arm strap to the other across his chest, but it wouldn't be safe to alter a car seat. That's the only solution I can come up with that would keep him in his seat and the pushers.

Can anyone help me?

It's a pretty common problem. I think almost all kids try it for a while. You can get these things called Houdini Straps from baby stores. They go across the chest to hold the straps together. We got them for our car seat and pram.

My 19 month old does that too!!.. We keep telling her to sit back..
