Baby Coughs Rss

Hey my 16 month old son, since starting daycare has had a constant cough. It is very phlemmy (excuse my spelling) and has recently been throwing up during the night which makes him very cranky during the day. He is usually such a happy little boy and lately he is just grumpy and tired all the time. I have taken him to the doctors twice and they think there is not much that can be done as its just viral.

Anyone have any home remedies for baby coughs??

Thanks !
My friend has 3 kids and says they all get a phlegmy cough if they have too much dairy. I have no idea if there is any weight to it, but does he have heaps of dairy?

DD has just had 4 days of phlegmy cough, I had been giving her a homeopathic cough syrup but yesterday I tried a few spoons of honey and then put her humidifier on all last night and she has woken up with a clear chest and no coughing!! Highly recommend the humidifier.

Dairy and soy both encourage phlegm production so if kids have it, it's best to limit their intake. Water is the best thing for getting rid of it.

he has some yoghurt every morning, cows milk after lunch, and a formula bottle at night.I asked the doctor if it could be the milk and he said that was unlikely. oh and i give him heaps and heaps of water throughout the day too.

Sorry, I only meant to limit dairy intake during the cough/flu stage! Dairy would not be the cause of the cough, it just won't help clear the phlegm.
