Just wondering if anyone has advice or experienced similar. Our son is 8.5 months and has had a hot forehead, a temperature ranging between 38-39 for past day and a bit unsettled at times. He also at times pulls at his ear and woke a few times last night and seemed to just want me to be there. Cant see any teeth there but wondering if teething or sore ear? Was considering taking him to doctors but usually not much they can do and spoke to nurse yesterday and she said not worth to see doctor yet - bring in if temp reaches 39.4. What do you ladies do when your kids have temperatures?

Hey, I had a similar issue just before Christmas. My son was just on 9 months. Had a high temp similar to what you are experiencing. He was also tugging at his ear a lot. After 72 hrs of being unable to keep his temp down I took him to the doctor. They checked his ears, throat and chest and all were clear. The doctor (was not my normal doctor) made out like I was a paranoid mother and just told me to keep giving him Pamol every 4 hours. His temp did come down the next day and then he got a rash all over his body. When I saw my actual doctor a few days later they said it sounded like he had a virul infection and there is nothing you can do for this. I was glad I took my son to the doctor for piece of mind. If your son gets any worse I would take him in to be checked just in case. Hope he starts feeling better soon.

if your mummy instinct tells you you want him seen I'd take him to doctors, I took my daughter a couple times for similar things thinking it might be throat and both times were roaring ear infections, even the other times that it just came down to an unsettled baby I still felt better knowing she was ok and to just keep up lots of cuddles and pamol

At this age I'd take them to the Drs - with these symptoms it could be an ear infection and you dont want it to progress to a burst ear drum. Only way to confirm is to have a Dr check inside their ears.

classic signs of teething pulling the ears temp unsettled and rash's occur aswell but if you worried by anything you take them to dr's for peace of mind that dr sounds like a loser

Anytime u can't bring a temperature down..in my experience it's the body telling u the body is fighting something big..usually an infection of some sort..go to the doctor to check the baby
They usually prescribe anti biotic
