My little girl is almost 8 months old now, and has been diagnosed with a heart murmur, which was missed by multiple doctors. I keep reading things about them, and it all makes me worry more, had anyone else gone through this? She also doesnt sleep through the night, waking up to 4 times each night, could this be related? It seems every time she wakes up that she has cold sweats even if her room is warm.
Heart Murmur and not sleeping...

I have a heart murmur which wasn't picked up until i was in my 20's having my appendix out, it causes me no issues what so ever, wouldn't even know i had it, feel a little flutter sometimes but if i hadn't been told i had a murmur i wouldn't think anything of it. my kids were constant wakers until 17 months at least, so it could be just your dd wakes up, maybe her rooms to hot or to cold, my dd who's just over 2 is a bit of a sweaty sleeper even if it's not hot or cold i think some kids just are. I suggest don't google and go back to a GOOD doctor with your questions written down and find out what you need to know to put your mind at ease. smile
I have a heart murmur which was diagnosed at birth and like PP said, it really doesn't cause any issues at all. Sometimes my feet turn purple due to poor circulation, but really, even this isn't an issue ... it just looks weird.
In the first year of DD's life, we saw MANY different doctors and a pediatrician (because at our surgery you just see whichever doctor is there, you don't get to choose a specific one) and EVERY one of them wanted to check her for a heart murmur because I have one. If I would say, "no it's okay, she's already been checked" then they'd reply "well, I just want to check myself because it's very easily missed". Anyway, none of them managed to find one. But just letting you know that it is very common that it isn't picked up instantly.
Anyway, in relation to your question ... I tend to feel the cold a lot more easily than other people. I'm always the first one to put a jumper on or whatever. And sometimes when I go to bed in winter, I actually wear three layers of clothes because I'm so cold (and I often have to wear proper clothes like trackpants and a fleece, not pyjamas). But, I wouldn't wake up cold in the night if the temperature in the room is remaining constant. So maybe your daughter's room is getting colder during the night?
It is pretty common for children of that age to be waking in the night though. My DD has only consistently slept through the night from turning 2.
Anyway, one other tip with regards to a heart murmur because this is the only thing that's ever caused me a bit of hassle ... one thing with it is, people with them are required to take antibiotics as a precaution against possible bacteria entering the blood during minor surgical procedures and even routine trips to the dentist. Because my mother didn't want me taking antibiotics unnecessarily, she took me to a cardiologist to basically get a letter stating that I didn't need them.
