reflux tablet Rss

My son has recently been prescribed losec tablets (dissolved in 10 ml water) to try and help his reflux, as gp didnt want to change formula due to previous issues on other formulas (consipation, grizzly and jist very unhappy esspecially during feeds). i know it wouldnt taste very nice and you can tell as soon as a little goes in his mouth he sctunches up his face and screams. and sometimes spits half of it out. i was just wondering if anyone else had to give this to their bubba and if they had any tricks to make it easier or make it taste better or just tricks to feeding it to him??
Hmmmm, my dd was on losec but she was 6 months and we just mixed it into her food.... Could you try giving it to him slowly bit by bit and quickly offer his milk straight after. If you do it when he's hungry he should quickly take the breast or bottle and wash it down... Or if you're using a syringe, have one with the losec in it and another with just water... Give him some of the losec, then water etc. That's all I've got haha. Goodluck and I hope the losec works for you!

Maybe add it too a bottle with a little bit of his formula to disguise the taste? Then quickly swap to the bottle with the rest of his feed.
Using a syringe squirt it against the inside of their cheek and quickly blow in their face, this forces them to swallow. Either chase with their bottle or water.
If you are using the losec capsules where you can open them and pour the granules out this is what I used to do... Pour the granules into bubs mouth or otherwise use a wet finger and dip it into the granules then put her finger in bubs mouth.
Why on earth would they give you a tablet? Thats just silly. Go back and ask for the caps. They have granuals in them which you just open and put with food as said already. Much easier. Depending on his age, use pear puree as its the least likly to cause an allergic reaction in young bubs. Otherwise use whatever food your on.
Find yourself a compounding chemist eg often the chemists at the big hospitals or some suburban chemists are too and they can make it up as a medicine. You can also get it flavoured. So much easier to administer and you know exactly how much they are getting smile
