Pooped out some muesli bar wrapper Rss

Just before when I was changing DS's nappy, there was a bit of what looked like muesli bar wrapper in there. It was about the size of a 20c coin. Should I be worried about anything being stuck in there? Do you think it's worth a trip to the doctors? DP thinks I'm just over reacting. Any advise would be appreciated smile
I wouldnt worry about it as long he is happy and still eating/pooing. I use to work as a vet nurse and if there was a blockage from a dog eating something to big, they were always lethargic, off there food, vomiting or diarrhoea. But that was things like rocks, socks and bark. So I'm sure it would be similar with us, plus a wrapper should be able to pass through easily. If your in NZ you can ring the plunket line or health line to see what their thoughts are.
Agree with PP.

When my DD was about 12 months, she was chewing on a comb and one of the teeth (prongs? whatever) broke off and she swallowed it. I called Plunketline and they spoke to me like I was a child abuser and told me to get down to the hospital immediately, taking someone with me so that if she started to choke, one of us could assist her while the other person could still drive. Got to the medical centre in a big panic, and the doctor literally fell off her chair laughing when I explained. She said that there was no need to worry, something like that would pass easily and there would be no damage, just wait 24 hours. She did an x-ray to check everything was okay - she said she knew it would be but it was just to reassure me - and there was no internal damage (the piece of comb didn't show up as it was translucent plastic). Sure enough, 24 hours later, there it was in DD's nappy. (I washed it off and put it in a Labtests jar, and she used to proudly tell everyone that it was her poo stick.)

Rule of thumb is, what goes in easily should come out. I'm guessing what your son pooed out would be the entirety of what he ate. I don't think something like a muesli bar wrapper would break internally, and if he managed to swallow it in the first place without choking then he should be able to get it out easily. So don't stress! It doesn't hurt to get him checked out but you'll probably find, as we did, that the doctors can't see anything for sure and will take the fact that he is happy to mean that everything is okay.
