Poor DD!!! She has a throat infection sad , Been giving her panadol & nurofen but the poor wee thing is just miserable!!! She isnt taking any food or bottles but she is BFing (constantly!!!) & everytime I put her down she screams which makes her cough & choke & scream more... So we are currently on the couch (with her lying asleep on my chest) with the aircooler on us because she is burning up with Mummy nearly in tears because her Bub hasnt been sick like this before!!! Took her to our GP but he wont prescribe Antibiotics in such a young bub, so its just lots BF, some painkillers and lots & lots of love for my Bub!! Just had to share because she hasnt been like this before & its so hard to watch her go through it!!

It is horrible when your bub gets really sick. Dont u just wish that there was some mirracle cure that you could give to her & her sickness would just dissappear? When my kids are sick, I pretty much hold them the whole time & dont want to leave them! They need their mummy smile

Its a good thing that she's still having the boob at least! Dont know that she's too young for antiB's. My DD2 was on them at 2 weeks old for a few months and the docs didnt see it as a big deal. If it's viral, antibiotics wont do anything for the sickness anyway. Just keep an eye on her to make sure its not a bacterial infection. Then she might need antibiotics. Best just to give her lots of TLC!

She's getting her antibodies through you via breast milk, so make sure you stay strong and healthy and keep up the feeding! The more milk she takes the better! Plus I think breast milk acts as a mild pain killer. Hope she gets better soon:-)

Thanks everyone!!! I agree that I wish there was a miracle fix for her... She is awake again at the moment & just lying on me crying.. she hasnt moved off me for 12 hours (except for loo breaks & a quick walk up the street with her which didnt work) so im absoloutely exhausted too... hopefully this afternoon when DH gets home from work she will go to him so I can have a break!!

you poor thing - it is so horrid watching them unwell, it is good she is feeding as that's what will help her get better, DD was horribly sick at 5 months and we ended up in hospital - not nice. At least if she's constantly feeding she won't get dehydrated!

Oh no! Its so hard when they are sick isn't it? sad
I have had to do it many times in my time as a mummy and its heartbreaking everytime.
You are doing a great job, she really needs you and your yummy milk to make her feel better and in no time she will be back to her happy self smile
Remember to look after yourself also, have plenty to drink and eat well so that your body can keep up with the increased demand. Don't worry about the house just concentrate on getting through the next few days and clean up then wink

Well we are off to a different GP... I rang my usual one because her temp has increased to 39 degrees & he told me I was just being paranoid!!!! Like hell I am, She is so distressed & exhausted from coughing & her "voice" has almost gone, Also when I look down her throat I can see the redness, Inflamation & pus spots (TMI sorry) on the back of her throat!! Im exhausted, She is exhausted & we are both in tears... But Im being paranoid?!?!?!?

Glad you found another GP smile It's such a hard job being a mum especially when they get sick, it drains all your energy. Your doing such a wonderful job hun and i hope when your partner gets home he can cuddler her for a while so you can have a nice shower and maybe a little snooze.

Took DD to another GP & apparently she has something called Strep Throat, He gave her some antibiotics & now we just have to watch her temp, It has come down a tiny bit which is a relief & she is having big cuddles with DH so Im actually getting something to eat lol, Thanks everyone for your wishes grin

Thanks honey, She had a bad night last night & was pretty much awake crying until 6am BUT... Her temp has come down to 38.7 which is still high but not as bad as yesterday!! She is actually let me put her down next to me on the lounge & seems a bit brighter... so hopefully she will just keep improving!!!
