Guilty
Hi everyone. Just needing a bit of a vent and some encouraging words. My 10wo baby girl has has a cough since yesterday morning and a snuffly nose today. Im taling her to the doctors but I feel like shes sick now because I stopped breastfeeding. I had no choice but to stop as I had.severe mastitis and under supply, so I know it was unavoidable to have to switch to formula, but I just feel guilty and a little bit of a failure a)because I couldnt breastfeed and b)because shes now unwell. I hate seeing my little princess sick. Sorry this is such a whingy post.
Don't feel guilty! I exclusively breastfed my DD and at about 9 weeks she came down with a horrible cold (coughing, blocked nose etc..)Babies still get sick whether they're BF or FF smile
agree with the above comment, baby will get sick either way!! just keep up fluids and love bubs will be fine!!
i couldnt BF with my DD(now 3) but am more determined with no2...dont stress not everyone can manage BF its harder than one would imagine!!

I agree with declan&miasmummy and kay. Don't feel guilty! Babies get sick, and Mummy's feel terrible. But you are not responsible for your daughter's illness. It happens. huh
You are not a failure, either. You are making sure your baby is fed, whether that be by breast or formula. And you know what they say about any amount of breastmilk being better than none - you have given your daughter a great start. Be proud that you are such a loving Mummy. smile
