DS won't sit/play in bath Rss

Hi girls I was wondering, ever since a few weeks ago, my son will not sit in the bath, I've tried everything from playing with toys in the bath with him, to trying to get him to sit on his own, to showing how playful the water is, can someone give me tips plz smile
how old is your DS?

i remember my DD went thru an anti bath stage at about 8 months old for some unknown reason so we started to take her in the shower and just sat her on a nonslip mat on the floor with a heap of kitchen bowls and spoons (these were far no interesting to her than bath toys lol) and i just crouched down and washed her whist waiting for my conditioner to seep in smile

my DD is going thru a horrid phase atm with bath time but shes 3 now its an entirely different matter <img src='http://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
yeah, it seems the same everytime i bath him, i sit him in the bath, as soon as i sit him in there, he wants to get up and touch everything (and when i mean everything i mean everything) its frustrating. just need ideas so it doesn't keep repeating lol i hate repeating stuff every day hes 1 year 1 month old, corrected adjusted 11 months 5 days old

You may want to purchase a bath seat I know there sold at big w.

I have my 1 yr old in bathroom while running his bath ask him put his toys in then I sit in bathroom singing & playing with him.
Whilst in bath

It may help.

Make him be apart of buy his bath seat .

Good luck. Let me know if it helps.
hey smile we did have one, but he's out grown one of his, and the other its hard to get him in/out of it
I'd either pop him in the shower instead or hop in the bath with him. Or have you tried just letting him go and see what happens? He might just want to touch and explore for a while and when he's satisfied he might sit down and concentrate on the bath toys instead.

DS stands up, grabs the soap, puts it in his mouth, shakes the shower etc he wants to play with everything but his toys- we've got cups in there make up brushes etc he's slowly growing out of it, I just make sure there's not dangerous stuff for him to grab - shampoo, cleaning, razors etc.
Personally I think so long as they're not distressed let them play with things out of the norm, they're just exploring.

My bub's exactly the same smile Just wants to stand up and grab everything within his reach or crawl around in the bath. We just let him (we make sure the water's fairly shallow) until he gets bored, or try and give him a toy to play with and then quickly wash him. I think it's just a stage.
Sounds like he just wants to explore. As long as you stay within an hands reach.

DS went through this stage, then sat for a while, then went back to wanting to stand. So we did the 3 count - the third time he stood he got removed from the bath.
I think you really need to be pushing the toys/playing side of things. Remember that there are many regular toys that could probably be taken in the bath, if you think he'd prefer these. Also my DD has crayons which you can draw on the bath with and then they wash off - she has never been so excited about going in the bath as she is now, and it is so hard to get her out!

Are you still using a baby bath? (Or do you still have one even if you're not using it?) I'd try taking it outside and trying to pass it off as a paddling pool, as he'll probably think this is more exciting. Only works at this time of year of course ...
