AMBER BEADS Rss

What is your experience with amber beads, do they actually work??
i have never used them on my child, but a friend has and liked them. i think it depends on the age of the child, i wouldn't use it on a small baby, only because i think for the beads to actually work, they would have to be worn constant, it's not something you would put on here and there. for this reason, i would be too scared to let baby sleep with them, so for every day sleep (which could be alot depending on age of child) and night sleep, i would take them off, thats why it wouldn't work for me, because the beads wouldn't be on for too long enough to produce the energy they are supposed to produce.
I have them for my son, i think they have made a difference for him. The biggest change i have seen are his day sleeps when he is teething. He used to be very restless and only sleep for 45 mins when teething and i would have to give him panadol. Since having the beads he has cut 6 teeth and his sleeps have never been short of 2-3hours and hardly ever use panadol now.

And a lot less drool - hardly any.

My ds only ever wears his beads around his ankle so he has them on 24/7 except for showering/swimming of course.

My beads only cost $15 so think it was money well spent...i wish i had got them sooner. I'll definitely be getting more for baby #2
What a great topic - I was just thinking of these today! I am expecting bub number 3 & had lots of teething troubles with the other two. We are having our 3rd boy so it is great to know they can go around the ankle - this makes less of choking hazard too I guess?
do they recommend them from newborn?
Thanks!
My mother inlaw bought them for my dd and i am yet to keep them on her full time as she is only four months old and i am scared of them maybe becoming a choking hazard! but now that schnaz has told us that her ds wears them around his ankle, i will be putting them on her tomorrow! i have heard great things about these beads, but i am yet to see if they actually work!
Well I was a real skeptic!! WAS that is....

My DD has had them on for two nights..wears the necklace around her ankle for sleeps. Wow, she has improved out of sight!!

She went from waking 2-6 times from 6-12pm then at least twice before 6am to waking twice before midnight and sleeps until 630am.and was a super drooler...

I know it is such a short time.....but hey I will take it! Best nights sleep I have had in months!Worth the 20 bucks!!

I have now bought my older son a necklace...

I researched it, apparently they have to be baltic amber beads, knotted between beads (so if string breaks they do not go everywhere)...I got mine from online store life in harmony
I Love them!
I put an amber necklace on ds2 when he was around 3 1/2 - 4 months old.
I have very rarely used panadole for teething, I think it is the reason why. I did make the mistake to start with of taking it off to sleep and bath but after talking to a few other users was told to leave it on 24 7.
I am now expecting #3 and will be using 1 from birth.

Nope they did not work for my baby , i got a refund. If you buy them off www.bambeado.com.au you can return them within 14 days.I actually emailed them after 30days and they still gave me a refund.
NO! Total waste of money! Even had the authentication etc but they were a complete waste of time and money for us! Would def. not reccommend them!

I will be putting them on the next baby from about 3 months...thats when my DS started showing signs of teething. But there is no harm in putting them on earlier.

I put it around his ankle for a couple of reasons...choking hazard and i figured they would have more contact with his skin instead of getting caught up in t-shirts and not actually having direct skin contact.

They may not work for everyone but they arent expensive so i reckon its worth giving it a try if it means having a happier baby and parent smile
Don't know if they do work or not, didn't have them for my first 2 and my 8mth old has had them since 4mths. At first he stopped drooling as much but he has been my worst teether out of all of them! The others teeth came exactly at 6mths, his have only just come with heaps of pain! I think its more of a case that each kid is different! I'd buy them just cause they look cute!
The necklace works on my daughter to stop the drooling that she gets when teething. I was a sceptic but there was a big difference to the amount of saliva on the days that I didn't put the necklace on her. I take it off at night time.
The past 3 weeks have been hell for me with my 6 months DD teething. Nights have been fine but she was horrible during the day. She wouldn't sleep for her naps and was just upset all the time. It had been really hard, cos she was such a happy baby and an awesome sleeper. I was beginning to give her panadol at least once a day, which helped but i don't want to be giving it to her all the time.
A friend told me to get the necklace. Being a bit blonde, I thought it was a necklace that she'd chew on. Lol! Anyway after reading about them i thought what a load of rubbish. But then i read a few comments and saw they weren't expensive. I was that desperate for a solution.
I got the braclet and necklace- might as well look stylish at the same time. She's had them for a few days and I have my happy baby back. SHe wears the braclet as an anklet and the necklace when she is up. Her drooling has lessen, she's sleeping for at least 2 hrs each nap and the main thing is she's happy. Still can't believe that they work but they do.
Yes, they are AMAZING! We bought ours cheaply from ebay (new) for $11 incl postage. Alifeinharmony was the seller's name.

I swear by them! That's all smile
i have a 18 month old boy who was drooling none stop!!! like 20 bibs a day and a friend told me about the amber necklaces so i went on ebay and got one(cherry) for $20 and found it not doing anythink so email the seller back and told them they said try buying another one or braclet/anklet!!! so did that(honey) and i can tell u he does not drool anymore at all!! he wears his all the time as well as they say it works better if they wear it all the time to sometimes and there are many sizes so my sons one he can not get it to his mouth to bite it or anythink like that!!
I have found them to be great, but its each to their own.
HOWEVER have a good look around, cheap is not always best.
I highly recommend Selkie Designs
(i've tried about 3 others) this have a clasp not a screw(therefore no chance of toxic glues) they also have a safety release if the beads are pulled it will come undone, my son has done this a few time rolleyes: <span class="emoticon rolleyes">roll eyes</span>
they also have a fantastic range for mums too <span class="emoticon grin">grin</span>

I love them!! and recommend them to all my friends.

We got our eldest a necklace at 3years old. Not for teething obviously but she was just being hard work and always cranky and they were an absolute LIFESAVER! She became a beautiful child again (she wore them 24/7). You would really notice the difference when she would take it off for a couple of days (my husband wasn't a believer until she lost them for 3 days and became a terror again, he was searching high and low for those beads). She is now almost four and only wears them occasionally now.

Our second got her set at 4months and she has worn them 24/7 since 7months old and we have had very few teething problems. I would definitely get them for any future children too.
I highly reccomend them! Our son started wearing the beads at around 3 months and cut most of his teeth with very minimal problems. He has worn them 24/7 from a very early age around his neck.
Beware of the cheaper beads on offer as they may not be knotted off individually and be sure you have the correct length. As the beads are threaded on string and knotted they cannot be stretched to reach the child's mouth and if broken (which would be incredibly hard) they will not come apart as loose beads.
Our son is now 2 and since he's worn his little beads for as long as he can remember they are almost a second skin to him so he doesn't even notice them much less play with them.

I can't really say it's true or it's hoax but I believe it and I'd like to think it really works!
