i have the same problem late in my pregnancy and after bub was born .. it will slow down.. dont stress.
Hi, I'm with you, my hair wont stop falling out and I had my bub 5 months ago.
Ive been told that it is quite normal whether you are breastfeeding or not, but should slow down on its own. God I hope it stops soon!!

Yes!!!! It happened to me - was horrible!! I ended up getting little tufts of hair spiking up around my hairline as it grew back. There was absolutely nothing I could do about it sad It's all hormonal unfortunately.....it will eventually stop & you won't go bald, I promise! Get some cute scarves & hats - that's what I did!!

dont worry i will assure you as a hairdresser it comes back.
You may have noticed while pregnent you may have had thicker hair or faster growing hair thats bacause you had more blood flowing throughout the body and to the hair follicle.
Hairloss is normal there different rates of loss and growth and certain stages that you hair follicles will go through.
At the moment your just having a lot more loss then growth happening so it will all start growing back immediately after it fallen out.
Theres nothing much you do about it it just one of the many things that happen to the body.

It's those hormones again! I went to my hairdresser and she said it was completly normal. It is really scary when you're in the shower and clumps come out!! Thankfully it will pass and will grow back. smile
yep its very common , its still happening to me and DS is almost 14months .
Very normal after giving birth. I had my baby just over 5 months ago and it is still happening to me. Don't worry about it!
the same thing happened to me even though i was bottle feeding my girl is now 8 months old and my hair only just stopped falling out about a month ago i was the same as you though realy stress out about it
It happened to me too, after both babies were born. it started around 3 months after birth and just fell out like crazy, my hair was notably thinner, but it slowly started growing back. My second son is 13 months now and I've noticed that my hair hasn't fallen out in clumps for a while now it really only lasted about 2 or 3 months and has settled down to normal hair loss rates. but the problem is waiting for it to thicken up again. When my first son was about two my hair was back to normal.
Try not to freak out too much, I know it's scary!

The reason for it is quite interesting and simple, nothing to worry about.
While your pregnant, you actually go through little -if any- hair loss, or growth, it simply stays as it was when you conceived.
After you give birth, your body gets a bit of a shock to remember all that hair, so it accelerates the hair loss!
It will stop when it gets to your usual thickness, or will get thinner/thicker until it reaches the normal state. It will also start growing longer again smile

Hey there I'm going to say don't panic, I know what you are going through because the same thing happened to me, my son is 4 months old and at around 6 months into my pregnancy my hair started to fall out at the front and crown. I went to my hair dresser who put me on to some vidal growth products that seemed to help, spoke to my G.P who also did some blood tests and put me on some supplement as I was extremely low in Iron and Vitamin D. As a comforter my hair is now growing back thick and healthy, so try and explore some of these options as they might help you out.....
ive been worrying too im glad i read this that its normal my hair been falling out heaps my bub is 4 and half months old. and it wont grow frustrating
I had the same thing i was nearly in tears coz id run my hands through my hair and id come out with a handful. Mine went away espcially when i started to eat more meat and had a better diet smile Li is 7mnths
I'v heard it's fairly normal during pregnancy and after the birth
Completely normal after having bubs, you grow lots of extra hair while pg so then you lose it smile !!! I thought it would never end but it does smile !!!! Oh but then you get lovely fluffy regrowth joys of pregnancies and bubbas smile!
Sadly............completely normal. I freaked out after it happened with DS, and my hairdresser reassured me it happens a lot as you do not tend to shed much hair when pregnant for some reason - which is why it looks so lovely and full and glossy.
Same thing happened with DD.
Strangely though, it happened at about the same time post partum with both babies (around 14 weeks after delivery) and co-incided both times with my period returning. Not sure if this is related or not.
But yes, to answer your question, it does happen, it does (eventually) stop. Mine is still coming out nearly two months later, but much reduced quantities (thankfully!)
