daytime sleeping - 6 week old Rss

Hello,

Im trying to set my daughter with a sleep routine for the night..she sleeps about 4-5 hours straight a night which is ok but would like to get a routine going now so when shes older i can get her sleeping during the night.

my question is when she naps during the day should i put her in the bassinett? or should i just use the bassinett for bed time?

Input would be great..thanks smile
Hi there,

I started to make my girl around that age, sleep in her cocoon in the lounge so there was a bit of noise around. Bassinet was for night time sleeping in our bedroom.

Now she is 3 months old, she sleeps in her bassinet (which shes nearly grown out of!) and in her own room for her naps with the door and curtains open. Night time is bath 6.30pm, feed 7.00pm sleep by 7.30pm. She is wrapped and in her bassinet with the curtains drawn.

Whatever works for you!

Good luck smile
Thanks for sharing your bedtime routine. Does your daughter sleep all night?

Thanks smile
I have a 7 week old - he sleeps in the cot at night no problem and wakes only once. during the day he will only catnap but have found if he is out and in the pram or rocker / car he will sleep longer.
I put dd in room for all sleeps in cot in the dark. At seven weeks her
bed time seven pm. then eleven we wake her ..then she sleeps through till about four or five... then we wake her seven thirty.
she has now dropped the four am feed..sleeping from 12 till seven am..
she is 11 weeks old.
we are on the ocntented baby book by gina ford
working well for us.
good luck hope this helps.
We have a nearly 6 week old. He sleeps in the bassinet for every sleep. But during the day he is in our room with the curtains open and at night curtains closed. He sleeps about an hour and a half at a time during the day.

Our night routine goes like this... Bath at 6.30pm, bottle at 7.00pm, Bed at 7.30pm. He has a dream feed (we wake him up and he pretty much feeds and straight into bed) between 9.30pm and 10pm. He will then sleep until 6am-8am most days.
