Babies on Bali Holiday Rss

Hi
My husband and I are wanting to go to Bali for my 30th birthday. We have twin boys and they will be 7 months by then, but were 7 weeks prem so may only be like 5 month olds (will have to wait and see). I am looking at booking a luxury villa at The Samaya Seminyak. It is very expensive and has a private pool with butler service etc. The reason we are looking at this level of accommodation is so that we can swim while the boys sleep without having to "leave" our room. I am worried though that we will pay all this money and it will be more hassle than it is worth taking two babies this age overseas and that we wont have the fun that I think we would and it will be a huge waste of money. I would love to hear from mums that have travelled to asia with babies approx this age and how you found you could spend your days. Did they sleep much which enabled you to swim and relax, or did you have to spend your whole day entertaining the baby and not get to relax and enjoy the trip. I just feel that if I cant relax and enjoy myself - we may as well keep the money and stay home. Would love to hear about your experiences.

Thanks
Hi there, we took our daughter to Bali when she was 2 smile We stayed in an amazing villa in Seminyak with a private pool and all the rest of it... I know my DD was older than your kids but she got majorly knocked around by the change in weather, she barely ate or drank anything the whole time we were there and for the 1st couple of days she was really 'out of it' and barely moved!!

We did go to the safari park and the zoo and waterbomb park and she loved those, shopping was a bit of a mission because it was just too hot to have her out in the sun for long periods of time!

We are going there again in May and will be leaving our son home, he will be 14 months, as I just think that it's more hassle than it's worth taking such young babies.

Oh another issue you will have if you do go out anywhere there are no car seats in the taxis and the footpaths/roads are crappy for pushing a pram on...

Overall we did have an awesome time but I think if you want to actually get out and do stuff it'd be better with older kids smile
