7 1/2 Month old Sleep Rss

Just wondering how much your bub sleep for of a night

My baby is BF and goes to bed at 7pm and wakes at 4am or 5am for a feed then i put her back down and she wakes at 7am.
Someone said to me she should be doing 12 hours now and shouldnt offer her milk at 5..I am sure her hours she is sleeping is fine but just interested in what other mum and bubs do??

My bubs was definitely sleeping 13 hours uninterrupted by now (7pm to 8am), but I think she is doing well to get to 5am (I BF too). As long as she is getting enough milk and solids during the day she shouldn't need the 5am feed, it might just be habit. Is she drinking water now too? You could always offer her a drink of water at 5am to see if she settles for another hour or so, or maybe she is waking as she is too cold?
I agree that is a really great sleep for a 7 month old. Not all babies just sleep through. My bub can wake up for 3 or 4 times a night and sometimes keep me up for 2 hours.
Hope you are also getting great sleep at night too and hope it continues grin
She is sleeping much better then my son did at that age. I would definitely keep giving her the 5am breastfeed. She has gone a good solid 10 hours without a feed I wouldn't be denying her that feed.

WOW - she's doing 9-10 hours straight - that's awesome for that age bracket i reckon!
All babies are different & there is sooo much that everyone will tell you that they 'should' be doing, just listen to your baby. Your baby is ONLY 7 months old... still so young. If it isnt a problem to you to be getting up at 4 or 5 to do a feed, then dont worry about it. Some people just shouldnt open their mouths.

With my first, he was about 10 months old before he even slept a 6 hour stretch & i thought that was bliss! Heaps of people were telling me what to do & how to fix him, but nothing worked... he eventualy worked it out himself - when HE was ready. Then the sleeps gradually got longer & longer.

with my 2nd, she started sleeping 10-12 hours from 6 weeks old... blessed i know, but i did the hard yards with the first one. She has only ever slept between 10-12 hours & she is 5 now. On weekends/school holidays she will still have a day nap as well!
I think my little girl was waking at the same time and going back to sleep. She goes through different sleeping patterns... she has gone back to waking at 5 but since I have weened her off BF I put her in bed with us and she will go back to sleep for an hour to an hour and a half smile
Thanks for all the replies

I shouldn't worry what people say
I am happy with how she is going

I like the motto "if you are happy to do it, its not a problem"
I think she will stretch longer when she is ready or she will be an early riser like her parents!

I used to worry that DD wasnt sleeping through & would wake at 4am for a bottle at the same age, & I was told by a BHN not to feed her back to sleep so I didnt... That lasted 2 nights in which she screamed & screamed until she fell asleep exhausted... But I just got to the point where I did what I thought was best for DD & for the last week she has slept through laugh laugh laugh As long as you are happy & your little one is happy thats all that matters smile
DS is also 7months old and sleeping about 9 to 10hours. he goes down at about 730 to 8 and wakes between 5-6am

if he wakes for a feed before 6 i put him back down and hell sleep for another hours or 2 but after 6am we get up for the day.

im glad to hear DS is not the only one waking that early i thought he should be sleeping abit loinger but i guess not lol
My friends baby is the same age and does the same thing. So must be common for that age.. Do you think its more breastfeed babies?

All babies are different and i think she is still doing great. But as someone else mentioned, it could just be habit. Maybe see if she will self settle herself at 5? It might not take long at all.

We were lucky enouogh that our LO was doing 7 till 5 by 4 months but this continued for quite sometime. I formula fed but still i would feed her as soon as she woke. Someone else mentioned to me it might just be habit and she may settle herself. It only took 2 days ans she settled herself. She didnt even cry it was more just a littlew winge. She then started sleeping till 6.30 and thats as long as she will go. She is nearly 10 months and 6.30 is her wake time, no matter what i try but thats not too bad i guess.

She doesnt get her bottle till 7 still but i think she is just an early riser
