Night Terrors PLEASE HELP Rss

Hey everyone im new to this forum thing but i really need some help and advice. i have a 3 year old and recently she has been having night terrors and they are really difficult to watch. after about a hour or so into her sleep she will start screaming uncontrollably and nothing i say or do will settle or comfort her, im 100% sure she is still asleep while this is happening, they can last up to 2 hours and its so heart breaking to go through i was just seeing if anyone else has been through this and has some suggestions to prevent these from happening.. thank you <3
Hi,

My son was exactly the same for awhile there he kept having awful night terrors which were so fighting to watch. I have been told when a child has a night terror there is nothing we can do DURING the process we need to let it run it's course as trying to wake or disturb the child will make it worse, apprantly the child doesn't remember the night terrors.

It terms of preventing them they say if a child is overtired it causes them, so making sure their getting enough sleep will hel but apart From that they will eventually grow out of the night terrors it can be an age thing as well.
I remember hearing this on "the doctors". If the terrors are happening on a regular basis, keep track of them in a diary, noting the time that baby went to sleep and then the time of the night terror. Keep track for a few nights in a row. Once you can recognise a pattern then it's time to start. Wake the chid up about 15 mins before a regular night terror would be predicted and do this for 7 nights in a row for about 5 mins (until fully awake) then let them go back to sleep. See here: http://www.thedoctorstv.com/videolib/init/5602 I would be interested to know if it works.
