Hi, i have an 11mth old daughter that does not like to eat any food besides custards, i have tried on fresh food, processed foods and just any food in general that is suitable for her age. Was wanting some help to get her to eat more then just custards? Also my son who is 4years old seems to take a life time to eat his dinner of an evening, this usually results in him saying he is not hungry after about an hours of little to no food being consumed and resulting in him going to bed as he is tired. Is this normal for his age and what are the best hints and tips to get him to eat his dinner? I never had any problems with my now 8yr old son when it come to feeding in general. The 4yr old about 2mths ago under went a tonsilalectomy if that is of any assistance. Pleas help

Hi. I want to change my 11month old onto real milk. She is on the karicare weigh dominant follow on formula. I have been giving her wheetbix in the morning with my trim milk and she hasnt and any reactions. So yesterday I made her two bottles up of milk instead of formula. All went well, apart from she woke up at 1am hungry, so I gave her a bottle of formula. Can you please suggest what type of milk I should be giving her. I have been told trim milk from some people as she is a solid girl and then ive heard that its suppose to be the fat milk.
Thankyou
kylie

Please dont give your child trim milk. Always give either full cream or the normal blue top milk. My DS is full time bar one BF on blue top cows milk and has been for the last 2 months. Has no problems at all.
my 8 month old was at Plunket yesterday - the Plunket nurse said at around 12 months babies can move from formula to cows milk (provided they have no allergies). she said it should be full-fat (blue top) milk, as babies/toddlers under 2 years need a higher fat diet than older kids/adults. my daughter is 98th percentile for height and weight and the Plunket nurse still said full-fat everything, so even 'solid babes' need a good healthy high-fat diet!

Hello! Please help sad

My 3.5 month old just doesnt want to eat! This started about 3-4wks ago where he started eating less & less, now i have to fight for hours for him to finish 60mls during the day, or else he only eats while asleep or sleepy sad hes FF & is on S26 Gold, he alsi keeps regurgitating cottege cheese like milk after his tiny feedings. I dont know what to do, he barely has 400-500 mls a day. Iv tried changing the bottles, teats, leaving him without a feed for hours with the hope of making him hungrier to no avail, given him gaviscon for the regurgitation (that just constipated him) offered water in case it was the formula taste (doesnt want water either) he gags at the taste of anything in his mouth. Hes also very fussy & whiny, gets tired very easily... I just dont know what to do anymore, please help.
Hi

I'm a first time mum with a 11 week old baby boy. We started out feeding by EBM (bub wouldn't latch on) and comping with Nan Pro Gold in the hospital. When we got home, expressing was really stressing me out, because when I wasn't bottle feeding, I was expressing and not getting enough rest. Long story short, I gave up expressing after two weeks and was solely using Nan Pro Gold. Bub ended up constipated and a little spewy (spewing not too bad) and after talking to paediatrician, he said to try a whey based formula like Karicare. After checking the cans, Karicare looked to have less whey than the Nan Pro. Nan Pro Gold - 70% Whey:30% Casein / Karicare 60% Whey:40% Casein. So I didn't change. I talked to a clinic nurse and she suggested we try a goat's milk. So bub's been having Karicare Goat's Milk 1 and his constipation has been sorted out. But the spewing is much more. He's not spewing a whole bottle up, so I don't think its reflux (who knows, it could be, I'm no doctor) but its definitely more than when he was on Nan Pro Gold. Now I've just seen the ingredients of Nan HA Gold and its 100% whey. Should I be trying this one? I think the paed might have been mixed up or I confused what he said.

I would be so happy to hear of your thoughts and/or advice.

Thanks.
hi
my 7 month old baby boy is not sitting yet..i am concerned bcoz doctors told me i m sever vitamin d deficient and on my milk mu bub is gonna have very week bones, i was advised to give him a good amount of pentavite. I am also concerned about his solids, he is talking a good amount but i wonder if i can give him cheese( that has vit D) or some other foods with lots of vitamin d. can u suggest some more food please
thanks
bye 4 now
Sunshine is a good source of Vitamin D, as is oily fish. If you are BF then if you can, try increasing your intake of oily fish (salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines) or perhaps take a supplement for this? Not all babies are sitting by seven months, so I wouldn't worry about the timing - but if deficiency of a vitamin is an issue then see if you can sort that first. Not sure about cheese - some introduce this earlier than 9 months but it depends when baby started on solids. In NZ there are yoghurts for babies - not sure what the Vitamin D content is though. What about egg? That has some vitamin D in it, but again - not sure when you can/should introduce this.
thanks. i do try to take all the sunshine i get. u know going out with my bubs and all. and with the sitting stuff. may b i m asing for a little more bcoz my daughter started everything pretty quick. she was sitting in her 6th month, walking in her ninth. anyways with the vitamin issue, i never noticed fish..sure gonna try it, thanks
My son is 8 months old and we really struggle to get him to eat any solids. We've tried farex, weetbix, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, avocado, pear, banana, peas, strawberries and apples and he just isn't very interested in food. He'll eat rusk sticks though. When should I start being concerned?
