10 month old dropping food onto floor
My 10 month old thinks that it is really funny to throw all of his finger food onto the floor. We pick up the toast and give it back to him, and he will take a bite and throw it back on the floor. Any tips on how to get him to eat it instead?
ignore it, and don't pick the food up till he finishes eating - the more attention you pay/get annoyed, the more he'll do it. Also try cutting it up into smaller pieces.
Agree with Cruxy. You may find your DS is throwing it away because it's too big for him to eat.
Especially if it's just toast, go by the rule that if it goes on the floor, it goes in the bin. He'll quickly learn, particularly if you don't react to him tossing it on the floor.

I agree with PP, if it goes on the floor in our house it goes back on the plate once then if it goes back on the floor that's it. If you keep picking up and putting it on the plate then they think of it as a game so keep doing it.
Its just part of their learning, depth perception etc

My month old does the same thing she will eat one peice and then chuck a peice on the floor she will have another peice and chuck one on the floor. I find that she does it more when she is not really hungry or doesnt really like the food.
But yes just ignore it.

Ignore it. They are testing you to see how many times you'll pick it up. Its also all part of them learning about cause and effect. They want to know what will happen if they drop something... etc
Get over it, it is a game that you can't participate in. Babies who eat their food for a while and then throw it are telling you they are done. Babies that just drop are playing a game with you, and never make the mistake of offering something else. That creates a fussy eater and will be a habit your family will not be able to get out of for years. Put a mat down before every meal and make clean up easier for yourself.
