baby poos once on solids Rss

Hi

ok this might be a silly question and a bit grose but bub has been on 3 big solids 2 of which have either chicken or red meat in them for 2 months. he does on average 3 poos a day and they are usually quite runny. once every few days he does one which is more like play dough. he has had an aversion to milk since he was 1.6months old (now 6.5 months old) and we put this down to him having silent reflux. he is slightly better on his bottle now however i have noticed he has 2 good days with taking bottle and then starts to get fussy. he reaches boiling point once a week where he might only have 1 bottle in the day and then he goes back to a couple of good days.

i have started thinking that maybe he has an intolerance or allergy or something towards dairy. his poos get runnier when i give him yoghurt. is there anyway i can find out?
I would try an elimination diet for a while and go back to basics, then slowly start introducing food groups again and seeing how he reacts.

You could talk to your child health nurse or GP about how to do this. At 6.5 months my DD was still mostly on breast milk and was only having small supplimentary solid foods. I never introduced more than one new food at a time, and would see if she reacted to them before giving her another.

Having said that, without too much TMI. Poo is a good way of judging gut health, but it isn't everything. My DD does poos of different consistancy all the time, it isn't that she is allergic or intolerant to anything (well actually she is, but I don't give her those foods), it's just her body processing different types of food. She does one poo and a day usually, but about once a week she has a 'clean out' and might do two or even three. I don't think she's unusual.
